I know a time will come when I’ll have to jump into this world while juggling life as an ordinary team nurse, but deep within my heart, I know when that time does come, I’ll be ready for the chaos.

Then I can enjoy playing Pucking Checkmate with anyone who wants to ruin this new life I’ve made.

Closing my eyes, I allow myself to drift off, knowing tomorrow, we’ll be starting a whole new chapter and entering a season of redemption for the Saskatchewan Pincers.

With Jamie Winchester as our new captain.

“Guess I never needed to be worried about picking the wrong pucking player,” I whisper and open my eyes as I lift my left hand to admire the unique twinkle of the diamond rings on my finger.
