Epilogue Two

Avery, two months later

It’s been four months since I eliminated the Primrose threat to the world and frankly, the nightmares Wolfe told me would come haven’t shown up. I sleep like a baby. I don’t know what that means about the kind of person I am, but I can’t find it in myself to care. Everyone I love is safer with my mother dead.

I drop my hand to my abdomen. Especially the little one that is on the way. Wolfe doesn’t know yet. When he hears all his efforts at knocking me up have worked, he’ll be glowing.

I pull the curtain backs to see the light covering of snow on the ground. It’s my favorite time of the year and I plan on giving Wolfe his present yearly. Okay, Christmas is officially twenty-five days away. But close enough.

He secured a beautiful cabin in the woods a couple hours north of the Savage property. He rides back and forth to help with the rebuilding while we work on building our life.

I hear the roar of his bike coming down the small dirt lane. The Savages have friends who own beautiful cabins along a serene lake. They are former SEALs who now find their peace with their women in the wilderness. They’ve become fast friends and come in behind Wolfe. All three throw up a hand in greeting before taking the bend in the road toward their own cabins.

It’s just me and Wolfe for the rest of the evening.

I drop my robe, tighten the bow around my midriff and position my naked little self by the fire; the tree twinkles with white lights behind me like a dream. It took hours to set up, but it will be worth it once he hears the news.

The door opens and his eyes find mine instantly. Clothes hit the floor, and he prowls across the cabin like the hungry hunter he is. Thick thighs bulge and flex. Shadows and light cling to the contours of his sculpted chest. He’s magnificent and all mine.

He falls between my spread legs, aroused and ready to pleasure his wife-to-be. Weeks spent rebuilding the Savage compound has cut his muscles deeper than before getting shot. New calluses have formed on his hands and his beard is a little more scruffy than usual. He’s wild, raw and every bit the man I love.

Between us his cock glistens in the light with pre-cum.

He fingers the white ribbon.

“Is this what I think it is? Harmonia, are you saying what I think you’re saying?” There’s disbelief and awe in his words.

I nod with so much love and hope in my heart that it reflects at me in his dark brown eyes. “We are pregnant!”

He leans back on his heels, his face in his hands. When he looks back at me the wetness in his eyes feeds my soul.

There are no words. Just kissing and hugging. Lots of kissing. He slowly lays me back and leans over my belly and kisses the place our baby grows a hundred times over.

“How far along?”

“Two months. I called and set up a doctor’s appointment for us. It’s set for the week before Christmas.”

Wolfe kisses a trail up my stomach and spreads my thighs wide. He reaches between us and guides the head of his cock to my entrance. He teases me, rubbing the swollen head against my clit and then back down to dip inside my channel.

“A baby Wolfe or baby Avery. I can’t believe it.”

“You’re okay with my name change?”

“I’m happy you’re happy, lover.”

My eyes drift closed and I lock my ankles around his waist. He’s made a full recovery but the scar in the center of his chest serves as a reminder of how precious life is.

“If it’s a girl I want to name her Nieve.”

Wolfe’s lips pull up into a smile. He knows the Spanish word for snow.

“I already know our baby will have my black hair, your blue eyes and the same blush you have on your cheeks right now. She orhewill be beautiful and loved. Just like their mother.”

We make love under the twinkling lights of our first Christmas tree. This time next year our little Wolfe or Nieve will be with us. Until then we will work hard to build them a home to bring them into where they will be safe and loved.
