This time he let go. He slowly stood straight, and I wanted to gag as he stepped up to Vicky and smiled. Keeping his eyes on mine, he kissed the top of Vicky’s head. I had no idea what he was trying to accomplish, unless he wanted me to throw up.
Vicky was definitely blind because she melted on the spot like she was made of butter. It was, smack my head, worthy. An idiot could see he was putting it on and was as fake as a three-dollar bill, yet she was lapping it up.
“Hey baby, you want to go get some dinner,” Nash asked, and I was seriously considering majoring in acting. Not showing any emotion was real work.
“Of course I do, and maybe we can have some dessert when we get back to my room,” she giggled.
“You two love announcing your sex life. Would you like me to stream it for you again?”
Vicky turned her evil Gollum glare on me. I half expected her to hiss, ‘My precious,’ as she grabbed Nash’s arm.
“You’re just jealous, Freak.”
“Of you two? Not a chance, but I’ll give you a heads up that if you pull that shit again, I’ll make sure the dean gets a framed copy of the two of you.” I smiled, and it wasn’t fake. “I’m sure you can find some dark and disturbing hole to crawl into for a few seconds.”
“Keep it up, and you’ll make an enemy of me, Freak,” Vicky said, taking a step in my direction, but Nash grabbed her shoulder and held her back.
“Oh, you mean you’ve been nice so far? I couldn’t tell, with you resting bitch face, my apologies.”
Nash chuckled and Vicky glared up at him. “Don’t worry, baby. People like Ren always get what’s coming to them,” he said.
He smirked at me, and I was tempted to rub my ass at the memory of him spanking me. He’d do it even if I didn’t provoke him.
The door to the gym opened, the sounds of squeaking shoes and yelling getting louder and echoing along the hall.
“Hey, Snowflake, ya comin’,” Myles called out, and my stomach fluttered.
I brushed by Nash, knowing that would piss him off to no end. I knew I was playing with fire, but I was enjoying it way too much.
“Let’s go, baby,” Nash said.
I glanced over my shoulder, feeling a tiny hint of jealousy. Oh, hell no. I whipped my head around, my lips curving up as I saw Myles in his uniform.
“Were they bugging ya,” Myles asked as soon as I got to him, and my appreciation for his powers of observation increased.
“Not really. Vicky is always a pill, but Nash gave me this.” I held up the journal he’d stolen. “He was very Nash about it, but nothing I couldn’t handle.”
“No doubt, Snowflake. Yer like a gale force wind. Come on in. I’ve got twenty left of practice, it’s a short one today.”
Even with the lacrosse mask on, I could see him smiling, and I stuffed my journal into the pocket of my hoodie to try and hide my nervousness.
He was so cheesy and…I kinda loved it.
“Ya can sit up there,” he pointed to the bleachers with a few dozen people scattered around.
“McCoy, get your ass back into line,” the coach yelled, and I quickly walked over to the bleachers, not wanting to be in his coach’s crosshairs.
Settling myself on the top row, I tried to figure out what they were doing. Even though lacrosse was popular back home, it wasn’t a sport I watched. I quickly did an internet search of lacrosse, and a list of terms, equipment, and rules popped up. I was a total geek and totally interested in Myles.
There was no denying that now, but a small voice still screamed that it was dangerous to want him, and he would do nothing but hurt me. I lacked a role model the last few years, and my trust-o-meter was way off.
“Myles is so hot. I’m dying. His ass is perfect,” a girl I didn’t recognize said and then giggled with the girl beside her.
A flare of jealousy pulled its head from the sand in my gut, and I glared at the back of their heads. Is this what it would be like from now on if I dated him? Would I turn into Vicky, looking over my shoulder at the next girl with doe eyes for him, wondering if she is the one I lost him to? Then I’d have to give myself a pep talk. It wasn’t my fault, but really it was since I should’ve known and never gotten involved with him in the first place.
“I can’t decide if I like him or number twenty-two better,” her friend said.
I almost stood up and marched out. I was way out of my depth here. I wasn’t sure what made me think I was ready for this.
