“Watching you walk away from me was the worst day of my life. Having you not speaking to me was like being locked in solitary confinement for months. I would have handed you my balls if I would have gotten just one word.” He steps up to me, puts his finger under my chin and lifts my face to his. “You are the only woman that holds the entirety of my mind, body, and soul. I will do everything to make you mine forever.” His one hand moves behind his back and pulls out a ring.

“This is a promise. I promise to always be faithful to you. You are the only woman I want to hitch my saddlebags on.” He slides the ring on my left ring finger before his lips meet mine. “I will never allow another female to touch my body. This temple is only yours.”

I look over to the people that surround us. These guys are showing me that I can trust them to make sure I stay protected.

“I-I-I I don’t know what to say. You guys came all this way just for me?” My voice cracks as a sob rips from my throat.

“Family doesn’t let family think they don’t belong. Even if one member alludes to it.” Ryanne states, her elbow connecting with Rough’s middle, causing a rush of air to fly out of his mouth.

“Woman, that was close to my dick!” He growls. We all watch as she spins around, grips his cock over his jeans before she squeezes. “Fuck, let him go!” Rough’s voice is higher than normal. All the men step back from their women and cover their junk.

“Listen to me and listen to me hard. I don’t give a fuck. You made my sister from another mister leave us because you opened your damn mouth and let dick fall out.” She lets go and spins around, puts her pinkie in the air and the rest of the females follow.

Epilogue

Life has a way of kicking us when we are down. They then follow up with a foot stomp on the nuts, making sure to grind the part into the floor.

I turn my head and take in the people surrounding me. Viking and Raci are standing together, arms wrapped around each other as Raci cries into his shirt. Rough has Ryanne wrapped in his arms and her little body is shaking because she is crying so hard. Prince is holding both Tink and Muriel as they sob. I look down at Mae. Her head hung low, tears dripping down her chin.

“We are gathered here today to remember the life of Gray Mack. A man who devoted his life to his family, and those he classified as his. Gray lived his life the way he wanted. Filled with love, laughter and hope that the world would become a better place.” The club priest reads from his cards, and then he looks at Viking and nods.

“Gray wanted me to make sure everyone was taken care of. He didn’t want tears. He wanted us to remember that family is what we make it. He also told me to tell you all to pull your heads out of your asses and make your women your wives.” Viking says, sorrow filling his voice but a small smile playing with the corner of his lips.

Gray had a massive heart attack. He was coming home from his job when his heart attacked him and he drove off the road. His car hit the rock cliff and burst into flames. We could never recover his body. The guys went together and got Muriel and Tink a momentum to remember Gray. They have small gray gems hanging around their necks. We were able to get some ash from the wreckage and had them made into tiny gems they could wear.

We all turn and head back into the clubhouse. The girls go to the couch and huddle together, making sure that they have the support. The guys are sitting at the bar and we are looking up at the two pictures above the bar. Brother Unicorn and father figure Gray, both watching over us as we make sure that the girls are protected.

“I…” Muriel takes a deep breath, “I have a letter to read. My dad gave it to me a few months ago, and I was under strict instructions to read it should anything happen.” She takes a deep breath and opens the letter.

“Dear family, If my daughter is reading this, then I am the devil on your shoulder. I want you all to know that when Muriel and I came into your life, I knew that we had found the family that we needed. We had finally found a landing place where people would be there through thick and thin. Guys, please make sure that all my girls are protected. Allow them to grieve, but don’t allow them to dwell. Make sure that they are living their best life. Give me and Viking grandbabies to spoil. Make me proud to be an honorary member of Crowns of Chaos. I want you guys to celebrate me every day, in the laughter of the girls. The twist of the wrench and the pop of the beer caps. I’ll always live on in the eyes of you all.”Muriel finishes, tears rolling down her face, as she whispers“love eternally, Dad.”

Prince goes to her and wraps his arms around her.

“Brothers. Here’s to Gray. A man on a mission, one that we will have on our shoulder when we ride, when we smile and when we make sure that home and family are always safe.” He lifts his glass to the picture above the bar. “here’s a drink to the members who sit on our shoulder as we ride the open road. Shiny side up brothers!” We all shout “here, here” and drink the amber liquid in our glasses.

Family is what you make it. Life brings people in and out of your life. For the ones that are in your life for the long hall. Hold them tight and never let them go.
