“To a sperm bank.”

My mouth parted as all lucid thoughts came to a screeching halt. “Do you have fifty kids out there?”

He laughed. “No. That’s not what I’m trying to tell you.”

“Then what?” I asked, wondering where this conversation was going because, from where I was sitting, I had no idea why he felt the need to drop this information on me on our wedding night.

“Every time I…” he winced again, “…made a donation…”

I cringed, the thought of the process downright unsettling.

“The lady at the clinic would ask me if I wanted to freeze any of my sperm. I always said no because why the hell would I need to do that? But, one time, I was like, what the hell. Who knows what the future holds.”

My heartbeat accelerated in my chest. “What are you telling me?”

“I’m telling you marrying me didn’t make you sacrifice the prospect of children,” he explained. “We could have a child together one day.”

Goosebumps rushed up my arms as the realization hit me. “You’re serious?”

He nodded. “The possibility’s there if we want it.”

Tears glazed my eyes before trailing down my cheeks.

“Why are you crying?” he asked.

I struggled to find adequate words since I was still trying to wrap my head around the immensity of what he’d unknowingly done. “I knew by marrying you, I’d getyou. But only you. Which, believe me, I was fine with. But now you’re telling me you’re giving me something I thought I’d never have. And it would be yours too?”

He nodded.

I cupped his cheeks. “I couldn’t love you any more than I do right now.”

A smile slipped across his lips. “I’m gonna love you so hard, Nora Fletcher.”

“Say that again.”

“Nora Fletcher.”

I shook my head.

He smirked. “I’m gonna love you so hard.”

I moved forward, climbing onto his lap as the waves clapped upon the shore behind us. “Looks like you got all my tomorrows after all.”

He kissed me again, and then replied, “And thank god I get all of yours.”
