His beautiful blue eyes shone with so much love. “I was going to wait until later to do this, to try to pick the perfect sunset moment, but I can’t wait. I need to know now. Rylee, will you marry me?”
He pulled out a small black velvet box and opened it. Inside, there was a simple diamond ring that glittered in the sunlight. With a silver band, it was exactly my style and that evidence of how well he knew me just made this better.
“Yes,” I said around the lump in my throat. “Of course I’ll marry you.”
I had hoped this would happen soon. I was head over heels for this guy, and I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.
Hayden was on his feet again in a second, pulling my body flush against his as he kissed me. I felt tears pricking my eyes as I melted into him. I thought back to how dissatisfied I was with my life when I met Hayden a year ago. Everything had changed since then.
I had no idea I could be this happy and content.
When we pulled away, he slipped the ring on my finger. A perfect fit.
“I love you, Rylee,” he said, his voice husky with emotion.
“I love you too.” I smiled, so excited to see what our future held.
