“That is true.”

“He just needs to find a healthy outlet for his feelings.” Savannah pulled back to look at me.

“When did you get so zen about things.” Pressing my lips against hers, I grinned.

“Well someone has to be the smart one.” She smacked her hand against my chest before laying her head back down. With a yawn, I closed my eyes, my shitty sleep schedule now catching up with me. I wasn’t going to tell her about Carmella because no doubt, Austin was going to drop himself in it tomorrow morning. Mean? Maybe but he might think before he is a dick again.

Chapter Eight

Savannah

After he got home last night, we both fell back asleep quickly once he came to bed. As usual though, morning came too soon. When Cash’s alarm went off the next morning, I felt him unwrap his arm from around my waist and roll onto his back so that he could turn it off. He quickly moved to curl back into me, his lips pressing against my shoulder. With a soft groan, I rolled my body over to face his, resting my head against his warm chest. He chuckled softly.

“Morning, Sug.”

“Morning.”

“Not feeling it this morning huh?”

“No, I don’t want to move from this bed. Think anyone would notice if I didn’t go in.”

“Well Belle would notice that you weren’t there when she goes in to open up. If you want to stay home though, that’s entirely up to you.” I thought about it for a minute. What was Ada doing at the moment? Could she go in and help Belle with the store? After a few minutes, I remembered a conversation with her and her telling me she would be going away with friends for a week.

“I can’t. Ada can’t cover and I don’t want to leave Belle on her own. The bookstore is picking up, so I don’t want her having to worry about the rest of it as well.”

“Okay but please come home if you feel like it later.”

“I will or hide out in my office when I’m not needed.”

“That’ll work.”

“How long till you have to get up and shower?”

“I still have a little bit, I set it a little earlier, so I could make sure you were okay before I went in.”

“Liar, you just want to be around when I start giving Austin hell!” Cash laughed, hiding his face in my neck. Dead giveaway that that’s exactly what he was doing. “Yeah, you don’t fool me buddy!” He pulled back to look at me.

“Hey, I had to deal with drunk Austin. We all know how much fun that can be.”

“Unless you have to deal with all three of you drunk. I have never seen three people all having a different conversation at the one time.”

“Yeah we can get pretty bad sometimes.”

“Only when some idiot gets you on tequila.”

“It’s always Austin’s fault on that one!”

“Bullshit, babe, that is all on you. You’re older, you should know better.” He groaned, his hand moving to pinch my ass, making me squeal.

“It’s bad enough that Ma uses that against me. Don’t you start.” I could hear the humor in his tone.

“Well she has a point.” I could hear movement downstairs which meant that Austin was awake. He wasn’t loud but when you try and be quiet, you usually end up making some noise.

After laying there listening to him, I shook my head and pressed a kiss to Cash’s lips. “I should go and save my kitchen before he makes a mess and I kill him.”

“Yes, no bloodshed before I have coffee please?”

“I make no promises.” I kissed him again before pulling the covers back and getting out of bed. Not sure how I was going to explain going for tea over coffee when I have always been a coffee person, but I guess we were about to find out.
