“Yeah, well, I’m not like most people. Thomas Knight might have supplied the sperm, but he wasn’t a father to me. And apparently, my mom isn’t my mom.”
I was curious to see Vincent’s reaction to this. Did he know that the woman in Quincy was just a glorified babysitter? Did any of the guys know?
Before he could reply, the van came to a stop, and on the next breath, the doors ripped open.
Vincent crouched over me in a defensive position, bristling. He bared his teeth, and he gave a low growl of warning.
I blinked against the blinding light that spilled into the dark van. Two silhouettes stood in front of the doors, their features indiscernible due to the light shining at their backs.
“Well, well,” an unfamiliar male voice spoke. “So, you weren’t lying when you said you captured her alive. Though I thought you said Feral was dead.”
“He’s supposed to be,” Sharpe’s voice answered. “What should we do now, Erik?”
Erik. I’d heard that name before. That was the name of the Boston Coven’s leader.
“Call Dagon Knight. Tell him we’ve got his sister.”
