“We’re always going to be here, Millie,” he promised for them all. “We’ll never stop wanting to make you feel loved or make you feel good.”
“I’m feeling both right now.”
“Good,” Vlad agreed nearby.
As I shut my eyes, contentment found me in my afterglow. I listened to every breathing man around me, and I knew there could be no better place in the world. Even if people wouldn’t understand us, it didn’t matter here. Nobody had to know how perfectly blissful I felt in that quiet darkness.
I felt safe, warm, and loved, and really, that was all anyone ever needed.
