I follow him up to the third level, where Alistair’s master suite is located.

There’s a large wooden bed in the middle, and again the whole room is in a coffee-colored palette. Gorgeous skylights above let in natural light. There is a huge walk-in closet and marble en-suite.

“You must be tired from your journey. I’ll let you rest,” Bernard states as he begins to quickly back out of Alistair’s room.

“Bernard,” I call out after him.

He stops and turns around waiting for my request.

“Thank you,” I tell him.

His eyes widen as if surprised by my words. “You’re very welcome, Miss,” he says with a nod and begins to turn on his heel but hesitates and turns back to me. “Please don’t break his heart!”

And with that little bombshell, he exits the room.
