He looks over his shoulder, giving me a flirty wink, and butterflies take flight in my stomach. Simply from his expression.

“Look all you want, baby,” he growls. “I don’t mind.”

“Y-you don’t?” The heat in his gaze has stolen my breath.

“I like knowing your eyes are on me, Michaela.”

“You do?”

He nods. “I’d rather you were touching me, but since I can’t have my lazy Saturday without working tonight, we’re going to work until we finish.”

The way he says “finish” causes my thighs to clench with need.

“Delayed gratification,” he says. “I can stand the heat, can let it build for later. Can you?”

“Foreplay,” I murmur, and his eyes turn impossibly darker.

“Exactly. You okay with that?”

Am I okay with having several hours of innuendo and sexy, smoldering glances? Is “hell, yes” too over-the-top?

“More than okay.”

“Then get to work.” He points at the wall. “The sooner we’re done, the sooner I can take you to bed.”

Several hours later, I’m stretching a kink out of my neck when his arms wrap around me from behind.

“Are you done?”

“You tell me, Mr. Carpenter,” I tease.

He yanks me back, nipping my neck before growling in my ear. “You have a sassy mouth.”

“All the better to kiss you with.”

“Then I guess you better kiss me,” he answers, spinning me in his arms and backing me against the wall.

Lifting on my toes, I fasten my mouth to his, licking at the seam of his lips until he opens, letting my tongue tangle with his. My hands cuff his biceps while his make short work of the button and zipper on my shorts.

“We’re not going to make it upstairs,” he says against my lips, grabbing my ponytail and pulling my head where he wants it to deepen the kiss.

“Do you hear me complaining?” I pant. My hands yank at his belt, my body greedy for him.

“There’s that mouth again.” He rolls his eyes with a smile.

“Guess you need to find some other way to occupy it.”

“Yeah, I guess maybe I do.”
