“Sounds to me like you feel a lot more for Ryan than you care to admit,” she said.

I shook my head as if I could somehow make it untrue. “He’s a good friend,” I murmured.

“Yeah, that’s what we’ll call him,” she said. “Come on, let’s go sit down. Tony went to get you some ginger ale. It will help settle your stomach.”

“I need to see him,” I said.

“I cannot imagine what you’re going through,” Norah said. “But it’s going to be okay. He’s going to be fine. Stay positive.”

Tony returned with two bottles of ginger ale. “Here you go,” he said. “How are you feeling?”

I nodded and took one of the bottles. This was the side of Tony that Norah fell in love with. He wasn’t an easy guy to like, but he had his moments. “I’m okay,” I said. “Anything from the airport?”

“Not yet,” he said. “I told the guy to call me as soon as Ryan touched down.”

“Thank you,” I said. “I should go back to my room. You guys have all the wedding stuff to deal with.”

“No,” Norah said. “I’m done talking about wedding stuff. Stay here until we know. I don’t want you worrying all alone.”

“I’ll order room service,” Tony offered. “What are you in the mood for, Claire?”

“I’m good,” I answered.

He smirked. “Yeah, I’ll order anyway.”
