Until one day, I found a note stuffed in my backpack. In that note, the girl had written how unwanted I was by my parents. By my mother specifically. That my mother was out there living her life, enjoying herself and never wanted to see me again.

I lost it.

I found the girl at the kitchen table, eating a bowl of Cheerios with our foster mother.

I walked right up to her, picked up the bowl and crashed it down on her head. And nothing had ever felt that good before.

She was injured by the attack and taken to the emergency room to get stitches for the cuts the bowl had caused. I was taken out of the home and a history of violence was added to my log book. It permanently affected the way I was treated in the system. The kind of homes I was sent to.

I knew I fell for her ploy. She won that game.

But despite the consequences, I knew I’d never stay silent. I’d always be the first to pick a fight and to get my revenge, no matter the consequences. I’d do whatever it took for pay back.

And when I saw how sad Aldo looked, I knew the Dohertys had it coming.

We ate breakfast at the table. In the few days Aldo and I had lived together, we’d fallen into what seemed like a comfortable routine with each other. However, I’d have to get back to my life soon. I still needed the job at the salon and they wouldn’t give me an infinite free pass to come and go as I pleased.

“It’s been really nice having you here, Amelia. Thank you for the company. Since all this started with the Dohertys, I didn’t think I’d have any kind of life. That I’d have anything to look forward to anymore. But now I do,” Aldo said, as he sipped his black coffee.

I blushed a deep red but I was happy to hear it. He had given new meaning to my life too.

I worried the seam of my top with my fingers, feeling a little nervous about what I’d say next. But I’d already made up my mind.

“I think I have an idea,” I murmured.

Aldo looked up with his brows furrowed in surprise.

“An idea about what?”

“How I can help with the Dohertys.”

He put his cup down on the table with a thud.

“Amelia, you listen to me now, I don’t want you getting anywhere near those bastards. Nora would never forgive me if she knew I knowingly agreed to put your life in danger. And believe me, that’s exactly what you’ll do if you come in contact with them.”

I shrugged.

“I can take care of myself. I’ve looked after myself all my life, and I’ve been in pretty risky situations as a child.”

“But this is different,” he said, peering into my eyes. “You don’t know what they’re made of.”

“I’m the perfect candidate to help you with this. Nobody in the mafia knows who I am. Nobody even knows I’m connected to you. I could blend in easily. This might be the best shot you’ll get.”

He breathed deeply, his shoulders rising and falling as he sat there staring at me with narrowed eyes. I wanted him to agree. I wanted to help. I wanted a purpose.

My mother would’ve wanted that if she knew what was going on. She’d have wanted me to help her friend any way I could.

Aldo nodded slowly.

“And you’re going straight to college after that!” he remarked.

I smiled and he smiled back. The more I looked at Aldo, the more I felt like I had known him forever.

I felt honored to be able to help him.

I hadn’t kept track of how long I was at the bar, but it must’ve been all night.

It was a bar filled with skimpily clad waitresses who had their big tits spilling out of the bra tops they wore as a uniform. Basically, there was a lot for me to look at. Enough distraction.

The more I drank, the less I thought about my family and how they’d betrayed me. I didn’t feel like I was a part of the Dohertys. It didn’t seem like they’d even wanted me around. And it wasn’t just the alcohol talking.

The room spun around me while I guzzled more beer down my throat. A beautiful blonde came up to me at one point, with giant tits that came right up to my face.

“You look like you could use a friendly shoulder to lean on,” she said, leaning towards me suggestively. My eyes were glued to her tits.

“I’m not sure if they’re shoulders I’m looking for,” I replied. She threw her head back and laughed, then reached her hand out to feel my biceps.

“What is a big strong man like you doing by himself? You shouldn’t be alone out here, honey, there are a lot of nasty bitches who’d love to sink their claws in you.” The chick came right up to me as she spoke. Her voice was a low murmur and husky. Very sexy.
