I could get used to cuddling with him, too. And the sex. My God. I honestly wasn’t sure I’d survive regular sex with him.
“Jeremy?”
“Hmm?”
“About Switzerland.”
He shifted slightly, tilting his head to look down at me. “What about it?”
“I changed my mind.” I traced a finger across his collarbone, watching goosebumps rise in its wake. “I want to come with you.”
His hand stilled on my shoulder. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.” I propped myself up on my elbow so I could see his face. If he didn’t want me there, I wanted to know. But he had invited me. “I know I said I wasn’t ready for another cold trip. And honestly, the thought of freezing my ass off in the Alps doesn’t exactly thrill me. But the thought of you being there without me?” I shook my head. “That’s worse.”
He chuckled, his playful tone back. “You mean it?”
“I mean it. I want to be there. I’m your manager.”
He looked a little disappointed but nodded. “Then I’d be very happy to have my manager there with me.”
He pulled me down and kissed me.
“Good.” I settled against his chest, listening to his heart pick up speed again. “But I’m bringing even more layers this time. And if I complain about the cold, you’re not allowed to make fun of me.”
“I would never. I would think after Alaska, you’d be better prepared.”
“I know what to expect, but I don’t think there’s any preparing for that kind of cold.”
“I don’t think Switzerland is as cold,” he assured me. “And if you get cold, I’ll keep you warm.”
Later, when we were both on the edge of sleep, he pulled me closer and pressed his lips to my forehead.
“Thank you,” he whispered.
“For what?”
“For being here.”
I curled into him, feeling safe and content. “I can’t thank you enough for getting my grandmother across the country just to make me happy. I’m rarely speechless, but you did it. I can’t believe I get to have lunch with her tomorrow.”
“I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
I believed him. Under all the charm and the easy smile and the model-perfect exterior, there was someone genuinely good. He was the kind of guy who noticed when the people around him were hurting and did something about it. He cared more than he let on.
And I felt so lucky that he cared enough about me to let me see that side of him.
I closed my eyes and let sleep pull me under, wrapped up in Jeremy Blackwell and the hope of something new and exciting.

JEREMY
The week passed in a blur of stolen moments and late-night phone calls. Lucy came over twice, both times under the pretense of reviewing contracts or discussing schedule changes. Both times ended with her in my bed, tangled in my sheets, looking at me like I was the eighth wonder of the world.
I wasn’t used to any of it. The wanting to see her constantly. The way my body got warm every time she laughed at something I said. The fact that I’d turned down drinks with some of the guys from my last shoot because Lucy mentioned she might be free that evening.
I’d never been this guy. The one who rearranged his life around a woman. The guy that checked his phone every five minutes hoping for a text.
