CHAPTER 54

CARINA

The hot, muggy days of August gave way to the crisp evenings of September. Now that summer was over, life returned to full swing. Noah was busy with the new club season, Evie was settling into Year 7, and I was incredibly busy but happy with my new job at Westhaven. It was everything I wanted—the opportunity to work with animals, to teach children, and to have a meaningful project that I could fully own.

I was sad to leave RAB, which had been a big part of my life for so many years, but it was time to move on. Lavinia thought so too.
