I kept waiting to wake up in my bed, alone without either of them.

Even though I’d made love to Zeke before and we’d shared the feelings we’d kept hidden for years, it still didn’t feel real to me. With Rae’s admission adding to that feeling, I knew my life would never be the same.

I kept having to remind myself that I deserved something good like this—even if I sometimes didn’t believe it.

I stared into Zeke’s glazed blue eyes. “You ready to make her ours?”

“She’s already ours,” he whispered, closing his eyes on a long groan when Rae did something he liked. “Always ours.”

ZEKE

Cyn didn’t understand, but Rae had belonged to us for far longer than he realized.

While I wanted it, the tether didn’t matter in the end.

Even if Fate stole our Nyrith connection, Rae belonged to both of us—just like we belonged to each other.

Rae’s fingers slipped out of me, leaving me feeling empty and wanting.

I couldn’t believe she’d been okay with preparing me.

I’d wondered if she’d find it gross, but the way she worked me open and took the extra time to do things that made me feel good, like brushing against my prostate and stroking her thumb below my balls to increase the pleasant sensations, let me know she enjoyed herself. I’d totally misjudged her on that one.

Cyn slid out of Rae and scooted back, giving me room to move off her.

I grabbed my shirt and handed it to her so she could clean her fingers, then looked to Cyn for direction since he seemed more confident about the situation than I felt.

Rae finished wiping the excess lube from her fingers and passed me the shirt. “How is this going to work?”

“What do you mean?” I moved the lube and shirt to the side.

“I mean, don’t you have to come inside me while drinking my blood? How will you both do that? Wait. Does it work through the back?”

Cyn laughed. “I actually don’t know if coming in your ass would work, but that’s not what we’re going to do.”

“No? So you’re running the show?”

I stifled a smile at Rae’s sass. They loved provoking each other.

“Yeah, brat. I am. Problem?”

“If it means you’re gonna talk all night and not get on with it, yes.”

Cyn growled. “Just you wait.” He looked at me. “Are you ready for this?”

“What do you mean?”

Of course I was ready to complete our tether.

Finishing the magical connection between Rae and me meant everything to me. Knowing it’d increase my connection with Cyn and the others made it even better. It wasn’t about whether I was ready—it was about whether we could just get it done already. The anticipation was killing me.

“This is your first time,” Cyn said, voice suddenly serious. “With a woman. I want you to complete the tether, being the one to take her that way.”

My heartbeat skipped.
