I hoped she’d felt good and hadn’t felt ignored.
Cyn placed the phone on the nightstand and crawled onto the bed, pulling me into his arms.
I curled into him, not sure what to do now that I’d come.
“You’re thinking too much,” he whispered.
“How do you—” I cleared my throat; my voice sounded wrecked. “How do you know that?”
“You’re always thinking too much.”
I tucked my face against his side. “You’re not naked.”
He hummed, his fingers running through my hair.
“Why aren’t you naked?”
“Because I’d want to fuck you if I were.”
“Why didn’t you?”
“Is that what you want?”
I swallowed.
“Zeke?” He tilted his head to see my face. “Is that what you want?”
“Yes,” I whispered.
He licked his lips and nodded, taking a slow, deliberate breath. “Not right now.”
“What? Why?”
“Because this was a lot.” He cradled my head and pushed it down to rest against his bare chest, pulling the covers over us. “My cock is a lot bigger than my fingers, and I don’t want you already overwhelmed before we even try it.”
To think he wanted me, that he wanted to go all the way with me, stirred the feelings I’d tried so hard to keep hidden and safe.
He’d apologized, but never elaborated on what he hadn’t recognized or told me. I wanted to believe he meant my feelings for him. But if that were true…
Did that mean he was apologizing for hiding his own?
It was obvious he wanted me now, but how far did that want to go? His body wanted me. I’d felt that. But wanting to have sex wasn’t the same as wanting… me.
He’d called me his. Was he serious? Or was that just heat-of-the-moment sexy talk?
Too many chaotic thoughts swirled round-and-round until I couldn’t tell where one ended and the next began.
I wanted to ask him.
I wanted answers
I needed to know the truth of his feelings.
But I was too scared to ask him right now. I didn’t want to ruin what we’d just shared—especially if he wasn’t ready to give me answers.
Even so, we couldn’t ignore this and keep pretending anymore.
Not after this.
