Speaking of exes who make my blood boil, there she is.

Sara parks the car a couple of meters away from my gates and Lana, and we step out.

Her back is turned to us, and she doesn’t have anything on her. Yet, she is standing there like an absolute badass surrounded by the best-trained assassins in the world—my team. They have their guns drawn and pointed at her. She doesn’t seem deterred by them, and I applaud her for that.

The way she is standing there is making my head spin. I love strong women, and she is the epitome of that. She has one mission, and she is not going to let anyone dissuade her from what she’s set her eyes on.

I make my way around and stand in front of her.

While she can’t mask her grief, she’s doing her best to seem intimidating. She is to the rest, I know, but she can’t fool me. When I look at her, I tilt my head, and we smirk at each other. We settle into this silence and block out all the outside noise. Only we exist. And our desires. Apparently she forgot the memo on how much she wants me as she moves just mere centimeters towards me. When I lick my lips, she steps back as she caught on to her mistake.

Letting me know how much she still wants me.

Our bubble is burst as Sara places her gun against the back of Lana’s head.

“Give me the word, and I’ll shoot her fucking brains out.” Sara’s voice is telling me that she’d do it in a heartbeat.

Loyalty, ladies and gentlemen.

“No. Leave her alone. We need her,” I order my best friend. She is hesitant to lower her weapon, and I don’t blame her. None of us here trust my ex, but she doesn’t care. Her devil-may-care demeanor is what’s irritating my team.

She is not even holding her hands up.

“Everyone, lower your weapons.” My order finally comes through, and my team stands down. With my hand, I motion for Lana to come to me, and she does. As she walks up to me, my heart turns to mush.

She is the most beautiful woman on the planet, and my facial expression softens. Our shared memories flash by me, and then I feel it—the unscratchable itch deep in my bones. The heavy pull in my gut combined with my restless hands makes me want to tell her that I would like to put her through a mattress and have my way with her.

I won’t tell her. I’ll show her.

One fleeting moment of passion will satisfy my need. I can’t trust her, and when Dario finally dies, I’ll never see her again.

Win-win.

“Are you going to escort me inside?” Her deep and raspy voice tears right through me, and I step aside so she can pass. With my hands behind my back, I follow her to my house.

“Dude.” Oliver catches up with me as the rest of the team is escorting us back. “You are so whipped.”

I stop dead in my tracks and look at him. “No, I’m not.”

“Keep telling yourself that. You should fuck her.”

“Excuse me?” I can’t believe what he is telling me. The worst part is that Oliver’s dead serious.

“Yeah! Hate sex is hot.” He wiggles his eyebrows at me, and I laugh nervously. If I do end up fucking Lana, it’ll be her left in bruises and cuts.

“Fellas.” She heard us.

Great.

As the rest are still walking and ignoring the tension behind them, Lana comes up to me and gets right in my face.

“I wouldn’t fuck you even if you begged me.”

So that’s where we’re going.

“Oliver, take the others to the villa. I’ll be right with you. I need to…” I bring my finger to Lana’s cheek and caress it. “… talk with Lana about our course of action.” I emphasize my last word, and Lana slits her eyes at that.

“Good, boss. I think it’ll take you about twenty minutes for your… talk?” That sneaky bastard is right. And if I do my due diligence, it’ll only take ten minutes.
