“Bullshit! Send her on her way. I swear to God, I will come there right now.”
“Sara, please, calm down. I can handle her,” I tell her, and right on cue, Lana glares at me. I don’t fucking think so. I grab her by her hair and push her towards me so that her back is plastered to my front.
“If you think that I can’t handle you,” I brush my lips against her right ear. “You got another thing coming.” I release her by pushing her off me.
“Noa! Noa! Noa!” Sara is losing her shit, understandably. My whole team is protective of me, but Sara truly gets me. She once told me that I was like the brother she never had.
“Sara, Adam is on lookout, and nothing will happen. Hana,” I talk to her, “we are going to draw all the soldiers out, so they come downstairs.”
“Good. Adam?” Hana asks him.
“Sniper here, over.” Cheeky bastard.
“Did you hear that? Over.”
“Confirm. Noa, do I need to snipe out the guards from downstairs? Over.”
“Be on standby. Codeword to snipe is chains. Over.”
“Clear, sniper on lookout. We’ll see each other soon. Over.” I turn off my earpiece so that they don’t hear everything But they can still see everything.
“Lana”–she nods at me–“we’ll go through the backdoor; it leads into the kitchen. There we have one guard; take him down. After that we’ll go to the living room.”
“How many men in there?”
“Four, with two upstairs.”
“What’s your plan on drawing those assholes down?”
“Do you have any ideas?” She is thinking, and I’m finally seeing her in full tactical mode. It’s a sight to be seen. It’s a pity she’s such a backstabber.
“We’ll kill the guards that are in the living room, and that’ll have them come down.”
“Good thinking. Strategy for when they come down?”
“I have a small bomb that’ll stun them for just a moment for when we enter the living room. That will be our window of opportunity.”
“Okay.”
“Do you know where Sebastian is?” I wiggle my eyebrows at her, and she sighs.
“He’ll be holed up in his study, the coward. His study can’t be entered without knowing the code.”
“And I assume that Hana knows the code?”
“Bingo.”
“Is Hana still studying? Because I know you told me that she can’t fully work for you if she didn’t graduate.”
“She will graduate soon. Now,” I grab my machete, “let’s fucking do this.”
Chapter ten
Lana
The reason I’m working with Noa on this hit is, first of all, because I detest human traffickers. Second of all, I wanted to see how Noa operates. That’ll be something I can use against him later. But I’m amazed as well. I never thought I’d say this; working with Noa is a breeze. He explained everything so well, and I realize how anyone would want to work for him.
Focus, Lana.
