He shouldn’t have let it bother him.

It was just a stupid, one-off article. Not even an article. More like a blog post. But he’d been running on fumes before he’d even gotten out of bed, and apparently, that stupid fucking blog post was all it took to finish him off.

Which was how he’d come to be in Zane’s arms, snuggling in the group bed.

Zane sat with his back against the headboard, Felix propped between his open legs, his head resting on Zane’s belly.

“Who even reads fashion blogs?” Zane assured him. “Especially by some nobody named Bradley Fuckface?”

Actually, it was Fredrickson, but Fuckface worked for Felix.

He was a fuckface.

Felix nodded, accepting another piece of popcorn, letting his eyes close as Zane carded his fingers through Felix’s hair. “I know, right? Does he have his own fashion label?”

“Nope,” Zane said, popping the P.

“Did he design a dress for the Oscars?” Felix asked.

“He did not.”

“Exactly,” Felix said, letting delicate fingers toy with the skin just above the waistband of Zane’s pajama pants, smiling when Zane made that happy little sound he made whenever someone gave him unprompted affection.

Felix rolled onto his stomach, inching his way up until his head was on Zane’s chest, snaking his arms around him.

Zane was one of Felix’s safest spaces, second only to Avi. He was soft and radiated warmth and sunshine like a puppy. He was the light in their world of darkness.

The thought made Felix smile wider.

Avi called Felix an alley cat in a rhinestone collar. Yet, he’d somehow married a golden retriever. And now, he had his very own squirmy Labrador puppy who wanted nothing more than to snuggle with Felix all day and get as many pets as he could manage.

Felix’s eyes widened. Well, maybe not quite nothing more. Changing position made it obvious that Zane was half-hard beneath him.

It wasn’t like this didn’t happen. Asa and Avi understood full well the relationship Felix and Zane shared. There was affection, love, a weirdly familial connection that sometimes became sexual.

There were boundaries. Of course, there were. They were both married to other people. Happily married. Blissfully married. But the four of them were also a unit.

So, they had rules.

Felix and Zane could kiss. Make out. Jerk each other off. Even rub off on each other. But no penetration. Not with fingers or anything else. Blow jobs and eating out were only allowed when Asa and Avi were present and participating.

It wasn’t like these ground rules were a hardship. Most of the time, they weren’t even relevant. The affection between the two of them had far more to do with comfort than sexual gratification.

But sometimes, one or both of them just needed more. Needed the release. Needed out of their own heads. Needed their version of—what did Noah call it?—oh, yeah.

Slow boning. Just without the bone.

With Avi and Asa, it was raw and wild, all teeth and claws and passion that sometimes made it hard to breathe.

With Felix and Zane, it was soft and slow and just…comfortable. Easy.

“Somebody’s happy,” Felix teased.

“Sorry,” Zane said.

“Don’t be sorry,” Felix said, kissing Zane’s chest, then along his sternum. “You want me to help you with that?”

Zane gave a contented sigh, rocking into Felix. “Kinda. But I also kinda want the boys to come home.”
