‘Reign, Levi, and Bishop lit out some time ago after searching for you,’ the barkeep told me.
‘All good, I’ll reach out to them.’
I glanced around as I leaned back on the tall stool.
The location held too many memories.
I recalled the gigs, the wild nights, and, most of all, the night I first met Ana.
My heart jolted as I remembered how stunning she appeared back then.
Hell, she looked even better earlier tonight beneath me, gasping as I blissed her out in the backseat of her car.
Fuck.
I cursed under my breath as a message popped up on my screen.
It was from Beau in our band group chat, hoping to track me down.
Bishop: Home safe, brother. Hope you made it back okay.
I typed a quick reply to reassure him, then waved Keith over to the counter.
‘Hit me with a vodka tonic, please,’ I said.
When the tumbler landed in front of me, I took a long sip and stared into it.
Damn, Ana.
Why wouldn’t she leave me alone?
Why was she in my head?
Every single night she haunted my dreams, twisting me into knots.
I couldn’t let go of her, and it seemed she wasn’t over me either.
Her showing up tonight was pure torture: hunting, then running from me, before taking my kisses against the side of her car.
The second my lips hit hers, I’d lost all control.
Our lovemaking, as always, was an epic, scorching, wild inferno.
I came harder than I ever had with her, with anyone.
Afterward, I’d been tempted to lash out at her with my pain and anger, but my love for Ana, and my reluctance to ever cause her pain, overwhelmed me.
I had no resistance with her, and tonight proved it.
Fuckinghellshit.
I downed the liquor in one go and prowled to the green room to grab my gear.
On my way back out, I raised a chin to Keith,
‘Thanks, brother, for keeping the bar open for me,’ I said.
‘Anytime, boss,’ Keith replied, wiping down the counter.
