He grunted into the kiss, gripping my hips to lift me off the floor, oblivious to the soft ding announcing our arrival at our level.

I stumbled backward through the doors, dragging him by his collar down the quiet hallway to our suite.

His mouth never left mine, trailing down my jaw to my throat as he fumbled for the key card in his back pocket.

‘Got it?’ I gasped against his lips, clawing at his jacket.

‘Don’t know,’ he muttered, pressing me back to our hotel door with enough force to rattle the brass number plate. ‘I have a few, woman.’

He yanked a cluster of plastic cards from his wallet; two slipped through his broad fingers and fluttered onto the carpet.

‘Great job, hotshot,’ I teased, nipping his bottom lip.

‘Shush, Ana,’ he gritted out, a dangerous grin breaking through his focus as he scooped up the stray plastic rectangles.

My lips trailed over his jawline as he jammed one of the against the sensor.

‘Red light, green light,’ I taunted.

‘Not helping,’ he groused.

‘Try the other one,’ I laughed, breathless, my pulse hammering in my throat as his thumb traced the shell of my ear.

He swiped the second card with a harsh, impatient snap.

Green light.

The lock clicked open, and Deacon kicked the door ajar, swept me into the dark suite, then slammed it shut with his boot.

The room was pitch black, save for the city lights bleeding through the floor-to-ceiling glass.

Deacon didn’t bother finding the light switch.

He carried me three paces into the entryway, turned, and pressed my back into the wall, his hands slipping under my jacket to shove it off my shoulders.

It hit the carpet, and my camera bag slid off with it.

‘You’re pushy,’ I breathed out, my palms flat on his chest, feeling the thud of his heart pounding under his ribs.

‘Woman, you tormented me from that pit for two straight hours,’ he whispered.

His mouth traced down the sensitive arch of my neck until I pulled his face back to mine.

His heated rasp went on. ‘Hell, you’ve being driving me wild for the last few years, and I’m done waiting.’

With a grunt, he lifted me, my legs wrapping around his waist as he backed toward the king bed.

My hands slid behind his head, tugging just enough to draw a groan.

We hit the mattress in a tangle of limbs, and we both broke into soft laughter.

We kicked off our shoes, then our tees.

A frisson of longing went through me as I eyed his rippling torso and sinewed arms.

I drew in a ragged breath as he went for his jeans as I slid out of my trousers.

My bra sailed through the room as he bent over and shucked off his shorts.
