“Why don’t you head out,” Kid instructed. “I’ll lock up.”

The artist turned toward them and surveyed the situation. His station needed cleaning. There was probably half an hour’s worth of work left to get things right, but Kid didn’t want any witnesses or casualties for what might happen with his visitors, so it’d be best to get any innocents out of the way.

As though reading his mind, his employee nodded. “Yeah. Okay.” And off he went.

“Good,” Arturo said, wearing a smug grin. “Now we can talk business openly and properly.”

Carrie

Add to cart. Add to cart. Carrie kicked her feet slightly, causing her laptop, which sat atop her thighs, to wiggle as her excitement for Halloween and her costume grew. This was the best costume idea she’d ever had.

The store had the basics, but Carrie never considered herself a basic bitch. She wanted something more elaborate and showstopping. She never considered herself crafty and didn’t even own a hot glue gun or sewing machine, but when it came to costuming, she always found a way.

However, looking at the subtotal of her cart, she might have to cut back some. That, or maybe she should spread her purchases out over a few paychecks. How many weeks were left before Halloween? What day was it anyway?

Picking up her phone, she tapped the screen and immediately winced. Nope. She didn’t have time to wait. If she ordered now, she would have a week before her birthday, and the party, to get her costume together. Right now, she had an idea, but there was no guarantee what she thought would actually work.

Blowing out a breath, she returned to her cart and clicked through the items she had sitting there. What could she part with? What wasn’t essential?

The creak of her door opening drew Carrie’s attention, and she twisted toward the entrance to her apartment. With his head low, his shoulders slumped, and wearing a morose expression, Kid came home. Carefully, he closed the door before he dropped his backpack on the small table beside the kitchen.

“You’re up late,” he commented.

Was she? She glanced down at the clock on her computer and gasped. “Oh, shit.” She had morning appointments and couldn’t be late to work. She should’ve gone to bed hours ago. “I didn’t even realize.”

Carrie closed her laptop and placed it on the coffee table before shifting her attention to him.

At twenty-four, Kid was five years younger than her, but with the weight of the world on his shoulders and the sheer amount of ink covering his skin, he didn’t look it. “What’s wrong?” she couldn’t help but ask.

He furrowed his brow as he scrubbed a hand up the back of his neck and into his already mussy dirty-blond hair. “Nothing,” he lied as he glanced away from her. “Just busy at the studio.”

Spending as many months together living in the same apartment allowed her to become quite familiar with him. Anyone else might have believed what he said, but she could tell that wasn’t what was bothering him. Besides, the tattoo shop closed around eleven at night. Four hours ago. If tattooing had been the reason he resembled death warmed over, he had plenty of time to work that out before he came home.

Something else was on his mind—something he couldn’t tell her.

She bit her lips together and studied him. Her gaze lingered on the diamond patch on his well-worn black leather vest. The symbol that he was a dangerous man. Someone people should not fuck with. With his baby face, it was hard to believe he was capable of such evils.

As he brought his attention back to her, she lifted her eyes to meet his. An unspoken battle warred within him. She didn’t know what, but she had an idea that she could distract him a bit.

The corners of her mouth rose as she grinned her most sultry smile. Rising from the couch, she swayed her hips as she approached him. Lifting her chin so as not to break eye contact, she stopped just short of their chests colliding.

His throat bobbed as he swallowed.

“Allow me to clear your mind,” she whispered as she flicked open the buckle of his belt.

“Carrie,” he murmured in what might be considered a protest, but she wasn’t sure.

“Shh.” She pressed a finger to his lips. “You’ve done so much for me. Let me do this for you.”

Closing his eyes, Kid let his head fall back as a low rumble vibrated his chest. Carrie made quick work of his button and fly. As she lowered to her knees, his jeans and boxers went with her, pooling at his ankles.

His hand rested on the top of her head as she got an up close and personal look at his cock. A thick silver ring dangled from his tip. She’d never given head to anyone with a ring through their dickhead before. Having discovered fucking someone with this piercing was quite enjoyable, she was up for the challenge of slobbing his knob with this adornment. There was always a first for everything.

Cupping his balls with one hand, she leaned in and licked all around the mushroomed crown slowly. This was about him. She wanted him to feel as precious and pleasured as she did when he took care of her.

As his shaft swelled and lengthened, she suckled the rounded end into her mouth. The cool ring rested against her tongue as she twisted her head this way and that. His groan sent flutters through her chest and to her own sex.
