“From where?”
“I said I’ll figure it out.”
“You got until Friday.”
“I know when Friday is.”
“Because I’m not giving you no more.”
“Who asked?”
“You about to.”
I laughed.
“Nigga, you don’t know that.”
“I’ve known you since we were thirteen. You’re about to.”
I rubbed my hand over my beard.
Four helped.
It definitely fucking helped.
But four wasn’t fifteen.
I had some money I could move around. Couple things I could push back. Couple people I could call.
I wasn’t touching household money.
Sam would notice that shit.
And I damn sure wasn’t about to tell her I owed Levin fifteen thousand dollars because I couldn’t stay my ass away from them tables downstairs.
“You could always stop gambling,” Frozo said.
I looked at him.
“Now why the fuck would I do that?”
He shook his head.
“See? That’s why I’m only giving you four.”
“I can win the rest back.”
Frozo damn near slammed on the brakes.
“Nigga!”
I burst out laughing.
“Relax!”
“Win it back where? At the same fucking tables you lost it at?”
“I’m fucking with you.”
