I stared at his name.

My throat closed.

Because I had to tell him his brother was dead.

I pressed his name.

He answered on the first ring.

“Sam?”

I covered my mouth.

“Levin.”

His voice immediately changed.

“What happened?”

I cried.

“Xay. They found him.”

“What you mean they found him?”

I squeezed my eyes shut.

“He’s dead.”

Nothing.

Not one sound.

“Levin?”

Still nothing.

“What?”

“They said they found him in Newark this morning.”

“No.”

His voice was different now.
