“Nothing.”
“Why you keep looking at me?”
“Can’t look at you?”
“Not like that.”
He leaned back in his chair. “How I’m looking at you?”
“Like you plotting.”
“I’m always plotting.”
“Exactly.”
He laughed.
I picked up my wineglass. He’d ordered the whole bottle because apparently one glass wasn’t enough for his plans tonight.
“So how’s Lorna?” I asked before taking a sip.
Keith’s smile dropped.
Then he laughed.
“You know you too fine to be worried about a wack bitch.”
I raised my eyebrows.
“Wasn’t wack when you fucked her.”
“Avery.”
“What?”
“Why we talking about Lorna?”
“You fucked her.”
“And lost you behind it. Clearly I know I fucked up.”
“Mhm.”
“Clearly you still mad too.”
“I’m not mad.”
“You’re definitely mad.”
“I’m eating steak. I’m actually having a great time.”
He chuckled and reached inside his jacket.
I watched him.
“What you doing?”
He pulled out a long black box and slid it across the table.
