Levin knew niggas with money.

Him and his boy Tyler had been locked in forever too. Them two had this idea years ago for a fully nude, nasty-ass strip club where niggas could do more than just throw dollars at bitches all night.

They ain’t even start that shit in no real club.

Them niggas started in the basement of a fucking two-family house.

Ratchet as hell.

Fully nude bitches downstairs. Liquor everywhere. Niggas throwing money. Cards and dice going in the back. Everybody knew somebody, and if you didn’t, you wasn’t getting in that motherfucker.

That little basement used to be packed.

Then Levin got locked up.

Most shit would’ve died right there.

Tyler took the idea and made that motherfucker bigger.

While Levin was doing seven years, Tyler opened Freckles.

And that shit went fucking crazy.

Fine-ass bitches. Fully nude. Money everywhere. Underground gambling. Niggas coming in there ready to lose ten, twenty, thirty thousand in one fucking night like it wasn’t shit.

But that was a whole different story for another day.

Point was, Levin had been touching real money long before prison.

Bigger money than anything I was touching working construction and handling the little shit I did on the side.

And prison hadn’t dried his shit up either. Six months home and my brother wasn’t trying to get back on his feet.

He was already standing on them.

Avery was by the couch holding Serenity.

Too quiet.

Levin looked at her.

Then toward the stairs.

Then at me.

“What up, brother?”

I walked over and slapped hands with him before we pulled each other in.

“What’s good?”

He released me.

Looked at my face.

“You good?”

“Yeah. Why?”
