Sam stayed.

Of course she did.

Avery stayed too.

Destiny got there about forty minutes later with a bonnet on, leggings, Uggs and a sweatshirt like she had thrown on whatever the fuck was closest to her.

She came through the door.

“Bitch!”

I pointed at her.

“Don’t fucking bitch me. This hurts.”

She kissed my forehead.

“My godbaby coming!”

“Your godbaby getting on my fucking nerves.”

Sam laughed from the chair beside my bed.

Destiny looked at me.

Just for a second.

I knew what that look meant.

She called him.

And Xay never texted me.

Which pissed me off.

Then again, what the fuck was he supposed to text?

Hey, baby mother. Heard you’re pushing out my secret baby while my wife sits beside you.

My life was fucking ridiculous.

Sam was the one who stayed closest to me.

Every time a contraction came, she was up.

Rubbing my back.

Helping me switch positions.

Getting me ice.

Telling me when I was tensing my shoulders.

Arguing with me when I wanted to get up without calling somebody.

“Sit your ass down.”

“I have to pee.”
