I close my eyes. I need to be with Savy.

Now.

Chapter Eighteen

Savy

“You'd better have a good reason for waking me up. I was having a lovely dream,” Mateo mumbles.

“I do,” I say quickly. Holding the phone between my ear and shoulder, I continue to shake Archer. “You need to get here now.” I give up, jump off the bed, and look out the window. “Evander and Clara are outside the house. They can’t see through your illusion.”

“Shit, alright.”

“How did they know where I live?” I shut the curtain and move back to Archer.

“Who the fuck knows? I didn’t think it was a possibility that they would turn bad. Ouch,” he rumbles. “Aria had to put her suitcase in the middle of the living room. I swear, I'll never live with her again.”

“Mateo,” I hiss.

“Yeah, sorry. I'm dressing.”

“You know them better than I do. Get here fast.” I press my forehead to Archer’s. I don’t know if he'll remember when he wakes, but if I don’t wake him before rushing into danger, I can guarantee he won’t be pleased.

“Aria,” Mateo yells.

“She sleeps deeply. It’s going to take more than yelling,” I inform him.

“I'm beginning to remember.”

I hear water running.

“There isn’t time to shower,” I growl.

“It’s not for me, love,” he chuckles.

Wake, my soul bond.

“Archer,” I whisper.

It shouldn’t take this long. Maybe dream-walking for the first time caused his body to stay in the dream.

“What the fuck?” Aria sputters. “Did you just pour water on me?”

“Yes, get up. Savy needs us,” Mateo says.

“Mateo, will your illusion hold if I walk through it?” I ask.

“Yes.”

“Why can’t they see through it?”

“Evander is a powerful warlock, but I built the spell with that in mind. You were unsure that they were the good guys.”

“Okay, good.”

“We’re coming,” he says, and hangs up.

I drop my phone and grab Archer’s hands. “Babe, I need you.”
