Pushing the thoughts to the back of my mind, I revved my bike and pulled into traffic. I decided to take the scenic route near the college to avoid traffic lights and burn off some more energy on the ride to my place. Once I passed the shops near campus, I would have a few stretches where I could push my bike.

Even if I wasn’t as reckless as Gade and constantly doing dumb shit, I was still occasionally an adrenaline junkie. Being on my bike usually curbed that craving, and today I needed a fix. Unfortunately, it felt like the universe was working against me. As soon as I reached the light right before the shopping plaza near the college, I noticed something that had me turning left to pull into the parking lot.

There was smoke coming from the rear of a shop and I noticed flickers of flames through the glass storefront.

Gotdamn.

I yanked my helmet off, moving my kickstand down to call it in, but my instincts took over when I noticed a woman rushing from a car at the corner of the building, heading right to the location of the fire.

What the hell is she doing?

I quickly hopped off my bike and reached the back entrance of the shop with vamp speed just in time to see her turn the lock and enter the building.

“Ay, what the fuck are you doing?” I called out but she either didn’t hear me or chose to ignore the question.

I shook my head, already knowing I was about to follow her fool ass inside, and walked the last few steps that led me to the door she’d just entered with long strides. That was when shit went to hell.

One side of the back room was engulfed in flames. Standing a few feet from the blaze was a woman who felt too gotdamn familiar to me. Her arms were extended, palms up, and her body was tense as the flames were drawn to her hands.

“What the fuck?” I said out loud, not realizing it until she startled, released the flames, and somehow projected them to another corner of the room.

She angrily swung her eyes over her shoulder and that was when it clicked. That beautiful face was familiar. Deep brown skin, captivating almond shaped eyes that hypnotized me the minute mine made contact. Her full lips sent my mind places it had no business traveling. She was easily the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, even now while she was glaring at me like she couldn’t decide if she wanted to square up or run away.

And that thick little body posed a problem. Baby was stacked. My dick instantly rose to attention with the memory of her on my lap with my fingers in her pussy.

I wanted to wrap her locs around my fist and bottom out in that muthafucker and properly would have had she not dipped on me that night. Everything about this woman had been playing on repeat since that night at Blood Lust. The worst part had to be the physical beauty she possessed was only a small part of what had me so wrapped up. There was this weird pull between us. I had no clue if she felt it but I damn sure did and I wanted more of whatever was happening between us.

Got your pretty ass…

But first I needed to get this fire under control. I crossed the room and pushed past her with my arm up, palms facing the flames, making sure I was close enough to make contact. My eyes narrowed as the blazing orange hues danced wildly before connecting to my hand in a similar way as they had done with her. The fire was small, so it only took a minute or two before I had it completely absorbed.

When I turned in her direction, my eyes were illuminated. I could see the orange hue reflected in her brown orbs and the veins in my arms were already glowing.

“You’re Station 112, shit.”

Yeah, baby, I’m a vampire.

I smirked and stepped closer to her, locking my arms over my chest, dropping my chin so I had access to her face. “And you’re a fire witch who needs to explain some things to me.”

Her eyes narrowed. “Like what?”

“I’ve been looking for you.”

“Why?”

“Because I want to know what you did to me that night.”

Her arms crossed over her chest, mirroring my stance, and she lifted her chin. “I didn’t do a damn thing to you. Maybe you did something to me.”

I unfolded my arms, reached for her waist, and jerked her body to mine. When she was close enough, I leaned into her neck and raked my teeth over her skin, inhaling the sweet scent of her blood. Blood that had my gums aching and my dick thickening in my pants. “Or maybe we did something to each other.”

“We didn’t,” she rushed out, then pushed away from me, stumbling to find her footing as her eyes darted around the room. Seconds after, she regrouped and her focus was on me, fearful that I would attack, but also failing to hide the fact that she wouldn’t object if I did.

“Why couldn’t I find you?” I asked. There was plenty we needed to discuss but I decided to begin there. Her pretty face twisted in irritation.

“A boundary spell. Because I didn’t want to be found.”

“Well that’s too fucking bad because here I am.”
