“Bree, do me a favour and sit somewhere else. I’m not in the mood for you today.” I try and dismiss her. I could really do without the drama, I haven’t got time for it.
“But I thought I could give you a little gift on the way.” She purrs. She looks to my cock and goes for my belt. Before I can beat her hands away, her head is forced back violently.
Emilia has her hand in Bree’s hair at the back of her head and she leans in.
“I suggest you go and find another seat before I rearrange your face,” Emilia threatens. Bree scrambles off the seat and gets in her face.
“You don’t order me to do anything!” She seethes.
“No, but I do. Sit somewhere else, Bree,” I order.
“Fine,” she spits out and heads to the back of the bus.
I look to Emilia, a smirk forming slowly. I type out a message on my notes and show it to her.
God, I love it when you’re violent. Maybe I should call her back and get her to sit in my lap?
“Cyrus, switch seats with me please,” She grinds out. She didn’t appreciate my little note.
“God, we’re not even on the road yet, and you’ve pissed her off.” Cyrus releases an exacerbated sigh.
“It’s a talent.” I shrug.
It’s going to be a long ride.
EMILIA
I’m still seething. Bree really can’t take no for an answer. I hope I get paired with her for sparring.
“Relax, it’s a five-hour ride to the mountains, you can’t be angry the whole time.” Cyrus teases.
“Try me,” I reply. Cyrus sighs.
I look to Kade, his head is against the window and he’s sleeping peacefully. I envy him. So much so, I’d love to punch him in the face right now for his little note, but I really need to speak to Cyrus.
“Cyrus I need to tell you something but you can’t tell Kade. I’m sorry for putting you in this position, but I need you to promise me.”
“Emilia, he’s my brother, I can’t promise that.”
“Look, Cass has already offered to do it but there’s a risk it’ll get back to Kade, and I can’t risk that. I need you to do it. Nobody will go against your order as his second.” He doesn’t respond right away. He’s thinking about it. I hate myself for this, but I have no other choice.
“What do you need me to do?” he finally says. I release a breath that I’ve been holding for what feels like ages.
I twirl the ring around my finger. Another prison I can’t get out of. A constant reminder of the monster in my nightmares. The monster that ruined my life and continues to wreak havoc.
“The ring, it’s shocking me. Tom has something on his watch that administers it, but it’s shocking me even when he doesn’t. I don’t know what the pattern is. I need you to get the tech analyst to look at it, see if they can disable it without him knowing.” I disclose.
“You’re telling me he’s shocking you like an animal?” He seethes. Cyrus bows his head and takes a few deep breaths. I look to Kade to make sure he’s still sleeping. He hasn’t moved. Good. Maybe this was a bad idea. Cass thought so.
“Cyrus, Kade can’t know, he’ll kill him.” I urge.
“Good, Kade won’t just kill him, Emilia, he’ll torture him first. He deserves everything coming for him… and I’ll help Kade do it.” He grinds out. I know I can trust Cyrus. He’s become my family. He cares about me and I care for him.
“Cyrus… please…I need your help,” I plead.
He sighs, “Okay. Aaron is here. I’ll ask him face-to-face and I’ll come find you, I don’t trust my phone anymore… and I won’t tell Kade, at least not yet, if I feel you’re in danger I’ll have no choice, Wildcat.”
“Thank you, Cyrus…what’s with the new nickname?” I ask. I don’t understand people and nicknames. I’ve never been fond of them since being called a submissive pet most of my life. I don’t mind Viper though. I quite like it.
