“We’re being played by the Skolls?” Havoc asks as he looks through his binoculars.

“Either that, or our dealer is working both sides,” Vandal mutters.

As the treasurer, I counted out the cash for our order.

And then, the delivery never arrived. Except, now, this warehouse is saying the shipment was signed for. They even had my signature on the delivery.

Of course, the shipment said it was cartons of coconut water instead of weapons, so it’s not like I can go to the police and report them missing.

But from what’s right in front of us, it looks like the dealer we once trusted is now playing pirate with our weapons and the club’s money.

Knox wants answers.

Which is why the three of us are parked in the trees by the river…watching. And I’m pretty sure finding out that our arms dealer’s lot is filled with Skölls, their gaudy patch of a wolf devouring the sun across their cuts, is not going to be an answer he’s comfortable with.

I guess the rumors are true. One of Europe’s largest criminal organizations, Skölls MC is trying to create a US network. And it looks like their leadership has authorized a chapter, because those accents are pure Florida.

And that’s when I see something that makes my heart rip its way out of my chest.

She’s coming out of the warehouse on the arm of the Skölls’ president, his hand riding low on her hip, her jeans riding even lower. His mouth too close to her ear.

She’s tall, all dark hair and sweet smile.

Her name, the only name I’ve ever known her as, is Lauren—Lo, for short—and she’s the woman I’ve loved my whole life. I remember when I told her, when I finally confessed a few months ago. And she told me it didn’t matter what our feelings were for each other; a biker and an FBI agent can never be together.

Yet, here she is, on the arm of a rival club president, smiling at him like he hung the goddamn moon.

She must be undercover. It’s the only explanation.

But it still knocks the breath out of me so hard, I have to lower the binoculars for a minute. Havoc and Vandal are focused on the men. How many are there? Are they leaving? Could we break in and just steal what’s rightfully ours once they leave?

But all I can think about is the girl I love, the future I planned, and the fact she’s clearly intimate with a rival club president.

Until he smacks her across the face.

Open hand. Hard. A sharp slap that reaches us all the way by the trees.

“Motherfucker,” Vandal whispers. “That’s gotta hurt.”

Lo drops to the ground. The men standing around laugh.

Bile rises in my stomach.

No one moves to help her. She’s sprawled in front of them while they look at her like this is just another day.

And I’m on my feet, moving out of the shadows, before my brain catches up with me. In my head, I’m already there, helping her, when both Havoc and Vandal grab me and try to drag me back into the trees and out of the bright moonlight, but despite their respective strengths, I don’t move.

I hear my name hissed and curses muttered.

“What the fuck are you doing?” Havoc asks as a Sköll yells out that we’re here.

Lo’s head snaps up and our eyes meet. There’s recognition, swiftly followed by terror. Not of me, but of what I’m about to do next and…

Shit.

I understand, in the split second before everything goes wrong, exactly what I’ve done.

I’ve blown my club’s cover. I’ve put Vandal and Havoc in harm’s way.
