Beckett kisses the words off my tongue, and his hand comes up to cup my face, his thumb gently brushing across my cheek. He pulls away and when our eyes lock, his gaze is as soft as his touch, with both of them lighting me up.

“We can take this as slow as you like, Lily. But don’t ever apologize for the incredible woman you are. You—”

“I don’t want to take it slow,” I interrupt, the words spilling from my mouth, making Beckett stiffen.

His eyes bounce between mine as he assesses the truth to my words, and I hold strong, shooting him a look of conviction. His silence makes my breath quiver, and I bite my lip to hide it, watching his nostrils flare as though I’m not fighting fair.

And maybe I shouldn’t.

“Please,” I beg, and it’s barely a second before he smothers my lips with his firm mouth, his kiss more demanding this time.

We kiss with a passion I’m not used to, and I love that he’s taking control, setting the pace for what I hope is yet to come.

My pulse picks up speed as he slides his hand down my side, almost reaching my knees before finding the hem of my top. His eyes lift to mine. “This isn’t a top; it’s a dress.”

“I happen to like oversized clothes. I value comfort over style.” I poke my tongue out, and Beckett raises his hands in the air.

“I’m not teasing. You look fucking edible in this thing.”

My breath hitches as a new fire burns in his eyes, and without another word, he lifts the sweater to reach the waistband of my leggings, and pauses with his fingers resting against my skin. “Is this okay?”

I nod, speechless, feeling like a teenager again, as if I’m being touched for the very first time.

As his eyes fall closed, Beckett slips his hand beneath the fabric, slowly gliding his fingers toward my core.

I hold my breath as a pulse vibrates through my center, the anticipation almost too much to take. His palm curls over my panties, and I cry out as he groans.

“Jesus, you’re already wet.”

I gulp back my nerves, ignoring him, focusing on how his touch feels to avoid overthinking, not wanting to question whether that’s a good or bad thing. How am I a mom and I have never been touched like this?

His hand slips under my panties, and an unfamiliar pleasure consumes me as he runs a finger through my heat.

“Oh. My. God.” The barely audible words leave my mouth as Beckett seals our lips again, his hurried kiss making my heart race.

His hand shakes as he pushes a finger inside me, and I’m unable to stop the cry that escapes me.

He kisses me senseless, adding a second finger and scissoring them lightly, creating a friction that sends a delicious sensation rolling through my body.

“Beckett. God.”

He groans as he works my core, alternating between pumping his fingers and massaging my walls, and it doesn’t take long for the tension to build low in my belly. I clench against his hand, my grip like a vise holding him in place as I rock into him, my orgasm sitting just out of reach.

“God, this is so good. But I need more. Please. I’m not fragile. I won’t break.”

“Fuck, Lily.” Beckett sucks the flesh below my ear as he tugs on my hair and curls his finger inside me. His thumb circles my clit, and when he finally rubs the bud, adding the perfect amount of pressure, my body jolts in ecstasy and a high-pitched mewl flies out of my mouth.

“Oh God. Beckett.” My release hits me as his name leaves my lips, and he tightens his hold as I come apart in his hands.

My body shudders as warmth runs through me, and when I can finally breathe properly, I’m surprised to find I’m not as shy as I thought I would be.

In fact, I want more.

I want to feel him inside me. I want to make him feel even half as good as he made me. But I don’t want to do it here. “Do you want to come home?” I whisper, an anxious longing blooming in my chest.

Beckett’s eyes widen ever so slightly before he schools his features, and I replay my words as a new warmth coats my cheeks, this one from embarrassment. “I mean, do you want to come back to my place?”

He stills, torturing me with a few seconds of silence before he dips his head in a nod. “I do. But…I’m not sure that’s a good idea.”
