Warmth runs through me as my mind begins to swirl. I open my eyes to find that I am climbing Calvin like a tree, as he’s hanging off the edge of his bed.
Good job, girl. A man gives you an orgasm for the first time in years, and you become super needy and clingy. Way to go.
I peel myself off Cal, careful not to wake him as I return to my side of the bed.
“Morning,” he says with a gravelly voice.
“Morning,” I repeat, feeling the loss of body heat already. I pull up the blanket to my chin for warmth, and maybe to hide my embarrassment too.
My mind drifts back to last night, and, wow.
I did say I wanted to explore and find new experiences, but I’m not sure if fingering myself in front of my brother’s best friend is what I meant?
I lift the covers over my head a little more, and sink lower into the soft sheets.
Don’t get me wrong. It was a positive experience. Highly recommend, but was it too soon? Too much? Too something?
“What time is it?” Calvin asks, lifting me out of my thoughts.
“Not quite sure.”
Cal reaches for his phone on the nightstand next to him and checks the time. “Just past seven.”
“Shoot. I got to go.”
His brows fly up. “You do?”
I do?
I mean technically it is a workday, so I do have to get in the office, but no one is going to say anything to me if I’m late either. Instead, I buckle down on my answer. “Yeah.”
“Okay. Well, give me a minute, and I’ll grab my keys and drive you home.” He stands up and walks two steps from the bed before I stop him.
“It’s okay. I’ve got it.”
He stares at me for a minute, taking me in.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.” I pause, then add, “Believe it or not, I make it home from my brother’s apartment to mine all the time.”
Admittedly, South Boston to the South End is kind of a pain train-wise, but it’s not terrible. There are a lot worse options than my short commute; it’s just that there is not a direct path and I’ll have to transfer trains, but I do it all the time. I could also take the bus or grab a cab if I really wanted to, but I tend to stick to the T because it’s easier.
“Okay,” he says, giving in. “If that’s what you want.”
“I do.”
I’m not sure if he can read on my face that I need a minute or what, but I appreciate the space he is giving me. Last night was a lot for me, and I need time to process.
What does this mean?
Should I do this again?
Do I want to?
Does he?
Could I even handle anything even if I wanted to?
