Gripping his shoulders, I rock against him as his fingers thread into my hair, twisting through the braid he made. His gaze stays fixed on my face, watching every little crack in my control.
“So wet, already, min fru.” He leans in closer, fingers dragging over the dampness. “This is why I report on the environment.”
“Shut up.”
His laugh brushes the skin below my ear, and I feel it all the way down. Then his hand moves faster and harder, and I push into it, my mouth open against his jaw.
“You spent all day trying to hold everything together,” he says roughly. “Now look at you. Out here with my hand between your legs and riding my thigh.”
“Viktor—”
“Still dressed, and I can feel how wet you are through your leggings.”
My nails bite into his shoulders. “Fuck.”
His hand moves faster, right where I need it, and my knees threaten to give.
“Look at me.”
I drag my head back, eyes locking onto his, lightly panting. His pupils are blown wide.
“You want to come like this? Against my bike where anyone could drive past and see what I’m doing to you?”
The thought punches straight through me, and I whimper with a nod.
“Yes.”
His jaw tightens. “Then be a good wife and come for me.”
The orgasm hits on a loud, breathy moan. My head falls forward as I come, teeth pressing into his skin and his name caught in my throat, my body shuddering against his hand while Priscilla jostles behind us. He holds me until my breathing settles.
“Better?” he asks against my temple.
I could make a joke, but I can’t. Not like this. My palm reaches up to his face, fingers brushing lightly along his jawline where I press a soft kiss. “Yes. So much better.”
We ride back with more music playing low through the Bluetooth and his hand holding mine where they rest against his stomach. For the first time all day, my thoughts are calm.
And somewhere between the engine beneath us, Viktor warm beneath my hands, and Roxette telling two fools in love to come join the joyride, I stop worrying about where any of this is going.
For now, I’m already on it.
Chapter fourteen
Viktor
Aweek after our bike ride, Heidi meets my family through a screen.
I tell her it will just be my mother for the first time. This is true for approximately five seconds. Then my father appears beside her, my sister leans into the frame from the other side, and my grandmother’s forehead fills the entire screen while she tries to understand the camera. Somewhere in the background, Hugo runs past holding a large stick while Alice and Vera scream at him in Swedish.
Heidi sits beside me on the couch in our apartment with a knee tucked under her, wearing pink socks and an expression caught somewhere between terror and glee.
“Mamma,” I say in Swedish. “You said only you.”
She waves a hand as if this is a detail too small to talk about. “They were already here.”
“It is six in the morning for you.”
“Yes. They came early.”
