He lifted his head, eyes gleaming with satisfaction. “Make me.”
I shoved at him again. “This is still kidnapping!”
He froze, just for a second, but then his grip tightened around my waist, his mouth brushing mine gently this time, the change in him startling. “You can leave,” he murmured.
I blinked. He kissed the corner of my mouth. “If that’s what you really want.” My chest tightened.
He watched my face like he could read every thought. Like he already knew my answer before I did, because the truth was ugly. I didn’t want to leave, not right now. Not when my body was screaming for him, not when he looked at me like I was the only thing in the world worth devouring.
I swallowed. “I hate you.”
Viking smiled. “No Angel, you don’t.” Then he stood up, water sheeted down his skin, highlighting every brutal line of muscle. I stared, helplessly, my mind going blank in the face of him.
He stepped out of the tub and reached for me, lifting me effortlessly like I weighed nothing. My arms looped around his neck on instinct, clinging because the floor felt too far away.
“You’re unbelievable,” I whispered.
He carried me out of the bathroom like a thief with stolen treasure, mouth finding mine again as he walked. I tried to protest but I failed, by the time he reached the bedroom, my pulse was in my throat and my body was on fire in a way I couldn’t explain.
He set me down at the edge of the bed, hands sliding over my skin, his gaze dark with hunger.
“Tell me to stop,” he murmured, forehead resting against mine.
I should have, but instead, I pulled him closer by the shoulders and kissed him first.
Viking made a sound that was half growl, half laugh, and the room spun as he pressed me back onto the sheets, his mouth on mine, his hands everywhere, his control absolute. He kissed me until I forgot my own name, until all I knew was him. His strength, his heat, his possessive devotion.
And when his voice turned rough again, when he whispered what he was going to do to me in that low hungry tone, my body answered for me, arching into him, choosing him with every breath.
Tomorrow could bring consequences but tonight… Tonight I wanted the monster.
Viking’s mouth hovered over mine, his breath hot, his gaze locked on my lips like he was trying to decide whether to kiss me or devour me. Then he spoke, and his voice dragged heat straight through my veins.
“I’m going to make you forget you ever wanted to get away from me,” he murmured, lips grazing mine between words. “I’m going to take my time with you, I’m going to taste you everywhere until you’re shaking and begging and you don’t even remember what you were angry about.”
My breath caught so sharply it hurt. He smiled like he loved that, his hand slid up my thigh, slow and deliberate, fingers spreading like he was claiming territory. The touch wasn’t rushed, It wasn’t frantic, it was inevitable, like he already knew how tonight would end.
“You’re beautiful,” he whispered again, voice thick. “Every sound you make… every time you look at me like that… it makes me want to tear the world apart and lock you away where no one else can even breathe near you.”
“That’s… insane,” I managed, but it came out more like a plea than an insult.
Viking’s eyes darkened. “Say it again.”
“What?”
“Tell me I’m insane,” he growled, mouth dropping to my neck. “Tell me I’m a monster.”
I shuddered as his lips met skin, my head turning helplessly to the side, exposing more of myself as if my body wanted him to take it. “You’re a monster,” I breathed.
His teeth grazed my throat, not biting, just threatening. “And you want me anyway.”
I didn’t answer, I couldn’t because he was right, and my body was already confessing for me, legs shifting, hands clutching his shoulders, pulling him closer like I’d die if he moved away.
Viking lifted his head, eyes blazing. “Good girl,” he rasped, and those two words hit like a strike of lightning. “Now I’m going to ruin you for anyone else. Forever.”
My entire body went hot because I had no doubt that he had already ruined me for anyone else. He kissed me again, deep and hungry, like he was starving and I was the only thing that could feed him. His mouth moved with devastating confidence, knowing exactly when to slow, when to deepen, when to pull a sound out of me like it belonged to him.
I clawed at his back without meaning to. Viking made a low sound in his throat, almost satisfied, and shifted above me, his bigger body covering mine like an avalanche of heat. I’d never felt so small, so pinned, so safe all at once.
