Exposing me would be so easy.

So what the fuck did Damon truly want from me?

Eighteen years ago, he'd come after me, tried to kill me, and then let me go. And in his most recent messages, he'd asked if I remembered him.

Was he referring to being the assassin sent to kill me?

Or could he be a Lethe too? Could he have also rented me?

Fuck.

It was all too much to untangle right now. But I had a job to do.

So I let my malicious mask slide back on.

I planted my palms in the pool of blood and pushed myself to my feet, standing tall before Aleksandr.

My nostrils flared. “Let him come.”

I slid my blade across his throat. Blood spilled from the wound as he gurgled and choked.

I held his gaze until the last sign of life left him.

A wicked smile curled my lips as I turned to Neeve. “It’s time to bring Severin his next gift.”

“Somehow, I don’t think this will beat the taxidermy dick in a box, though.”

Chapter Eleven

Severin Volkov

Age 36

It would be an overstatement to say that filleting a man’s flesh was my favorite thing to do, but it was in my top ten.

Filleting flesh from one of the men who planted the bomb that killed Xeniya, though?

Yeah, I loved doing that.

Probably too much.

I also loved hearing them beg.

Xeniya never got the chance to beg for her life because she was gone in an instant.

Turned to red mist in the blink of an eye, a moment that had haunted my dreams and all of my nightmares for thirteen years.

I counted every second without her.

For thirteen years, I hunted them all down and ended them.

I rolled up my sleeves and tossed my blade from hand to hand as a wicked grin slowly curled on my lips.

“Do you regret planting the bomb?” I asked, disgust dripping from my every word.

“Yes,” Vittorio Caruso whined from behind his gag.

His answer meant nothing to me. Neither would anything the others had to say.
