Ammo couldn’t believe how much of a dick Charlie had become. What kind of fucking idiot cheated on a woman like this?

He couldn’t even comprehend it.

When he was at the club, he usually played with subs who either didn’t want aftercare or had a Dom who was waiting until the end of the scene to provide it.

When a Dom didn’t want to give a punishment, or inflict the pain the sub required, they would often ask him.

However, it wasn’t like he was at the club all the time. Just when the need built up inside him. So it had been a while since he’d been around a crying woman. Well, other than Keira’s pregnancy tears, and if she was crying then he’d usually turn around and walk out of the room.

He wondered if he could do that now.

Fuck. He was here to take care of her, so he didn’t think that walking out was really the right thing to do.

Damn tempting, though.

“Aimee, stop crying,” he commanded.

There, that should take care of things. There were very few people who could resist his commands. He folded his arms over his chest and gave her a stern look. Once she’d stopped crying, which he was certain she would do immediately, then he would ask her what was wrong, and figure out a way to fix it.

She should have just told him what was wrong in the first place and skipped the tears.

To his shock, her cries grew louder. Tears ran down her cheeks which had become splotchy and red.

Aimee most definitely wasn’t a pretty crier.

“You must stop crying,” he added, feeling more uncertain now. Why wasn’t she listening to him?

Kevin’s face peeked out of her hair, and he swore that the rat was giving him a reproachful look. Yeah, he got it.

He ran his hand over his face.

Ammo knew he was acting like an asshole. Of course she was going to cry. She’d just lost her husband, and even if he had been a dick, that had to be hard and emotional.

She’d been dealing with Charlie’s death and funeral, a crazy HOA woman, and he wasn’t exactly making anything better or easier on her by commanding her to stop crying.

He stood there for a few moments longer, wondering what he should do. Honey had once told him that he had the emotional maturity of a rock, and, at the moment, he agreed with her.

He should be able to care for one crying woman.

He’d seen other Doms give aftercare, so all he had to do was emulate that. Usually, they provided warmth, touch, and soft words.

The soft words were going to be a stretch. But he could deal with the warmth and touch.

He glanced around the living room and saw a blanket folded up at the end of the sofa.

Picking it up, he wrapped it around her shoulders. Then he sat next to her and patted her back.

That should be soothing, right?

Why was he trying to bruise her?

Every whack made her bones shake, and she started to cough.

God, she was a mess, an absolute mess. This was the first time that she’d cried properly since she’d learned of Charlie’s death. She’d held back the tears through sheer force of will, knowing that if she let go, she was going to fall apart.

Why did she have to do it in front of this man? He’d probably never cried a day in his life.

It was obvious that he had no clue how to deal with her. Had he really just stood there and commanded her not to cry? Had he actually thought that would work?
