The woman looked over and saw Ammo coming. “Whoa, he’s a big one, isn’t he?”

“Yes.”

“He belong to you?” she asked.

“Well, kind of. Not exactly. It’s complicated.”

The woman nodded. “I get complicated. You go deal with that, hon. I think I’m just going to try them on, see which one looks best.”

“That’s what I’d do too,” Aimee told her.

She stepped forward and met Ammo halfway. She’d expected him to be semi-reasonable, or at least to drag her off to a corner on her own before he started scolding her.

What she hadn’t expected was him to grab hold of her, throw her over his shoulder, and storm his way back out of the shop.

Crap.

For a moment, Aimee was too shocked to say or do anything. She just lay there like a sack of potatoes in total disbelief.

And then she realized what was going on and slammed her hands down on the small of his back, trying to reach his ass, which looked absolutely delectable in the pair of jeans that he was wearing. Seriously, it should be illegal for a man to have an ass that good-looking. Unfortunately, her smacks on his back didn’t seem to make any sort of difference as he continued to walk without even hesitating.

“Ammo, put me down.” She glanced around, aware that people had stopped and were staring at them. Her face went bright red. Seriously, was no one going to try and stop him?

Come on, somebody do something.

“Ammo, put her down or I’ll have to Taekwondo your ass.”

Aimee let out a groan. She really needed to be more specific in her requests, didn’t she? Because the last thing she needed was Kirsten thinking that she could take down Ammo.

“Out of the way,” Ammo growled.

“Nope, you can’t just steal my employee. Put her down.”

“No.” Ammo veered off around Kirsten, and Aimee glanced back at her best friend as she gaped after them. A look of determination filled Kirsten’s face, and Aimee knew what she was about to do.

She shook her head frantically. “Kirsten, no. You cannot. You cannot.”

But Kirsten seemed to be in a world of her own as she ran out of the building ahead of them and into the parking lot.

Ammo grunted as though in surprise, but Aimee knew what her best friend was up to. They stepped out into the bright sunlight, and Ammo came to a stop. “What are you doing?”

“I’m doing my Taekwondo. Now, unless you want me to inflict some serious pain on you, you will set Aimee down and step away.”

“You seriously think that you can inflict pain on me with those moves?” Ammo said in disbelief.

“Yes, put her down.”

“No,” Ammo replied.

Kirsten made a God-awful noise. Aimee had no idea what that was supposed to be.

What was going on?

“Did you just kick me in the shin?” Ammo asked. He didn’t sound like he was in any pain, and she heard Kirsten panting.

Aimee groaned. “Please, Kirsten, tell me you didn’t just kick him in the shin.”
