Surprised by what just happened, I lick my lips and let out a stunned laugh. I’m rooted to the spot. I don’t want to move, because I’m exactly where I want to be—close to Koh.

I have no idea why. He’s like a dreamcatcher that keeps every bad thought away. Even though he made it very clear he can’t stand me, it doesn’t lessen the effect he has on me one bit.

Maybe it’s because he has such a calm presence. He always seems grounded and steady—at least when he thinks no one is watching. That’s why his meltdown earlier surprised me so much.

“I should… the cum’s running down my hand,” I say, turning toward the sink to wash it off.

Feeling Koh reluctantly let go feels illegally good. I want him to keep touching me—something that’s new for me. I’m not usually like this.

I’m loud. I can scream my soul out. There’s always been a ticking bomb inside me. But Koh brings me peace. Around him I feel like a different person.

When I turn back, he’s just putting his shirt back on and smiling shyly.

“Everything okay? That was… quite a surprise.”

“Y-yeah…” he answers hesitantly. “I don’t know if it was a mistake, but… No, it wasn’t a mistake.” He brushes a black strand from his forehead and wipes his mouth with the back of his hand in an insanely erotic way. “I enjoyed it a lot. I just feel—”

“You didn’t do anything wrong,” I cut him off, zipping my pants. “You did everything right. You were so fucking sexy.”

Koh laughs and the sound is pure music. His laugh is warm and honest. He looks so free compared to the broken man who was standing among the broken glass earlier.

I tear my gaze from his dark eyes and stare at the soaked towels on the floor. Shards are everywhere and the dog is sitting in the hallway watching us suspiciously.

“We should probably clean this up.” I glance around the kitchen, lost. “Wasn’t there a little broom somewhere?”

“Yeah, here,” he says and gets to work.

“I’ll grab more towels.”

The atmosphere is strange when I come back and find Koh carefully picking up the bigger pieces of glass. He appears so focused, like something is weighing on him. And God, the man is attractive. His black hair falls messily into his face and his toned body turns me on—which only makes everything more complicated.

The last thing I wanted was to get out of prison and throw myself at the first guy like I’m desperate. On the other hand, Koh knows this is just fun. I made that clear from the start.

Something must have happened for him to change his mind and be open to it.

“Can I ask you something?” I ask.

Koh drops the last towel onto the wet floor and stands up. When he turns to me and raises his brows questioningly, the doorbell rings. A second later, Fox and Leslie walk in.

“Guys!” I blurt out. “This has to stop. You can’t just walk in here whenever you feel like it.”

They stop in the doorway and stare at Koh and me in surprise. Leslie waves it off and walks to the counter, setting her leather bag on a stool. Fox closes the door behind them.

“Hey, you two!” Leslie greets us casually. “So? Have you finally made up?”

I make a face and glance down to make sure everything is tucked away.

“It’s not like they were constantly fighting,” Fox notes, moving Leslie’s bag to the counter and sitting on the second stool.

“I’ll leave you alone.” Koh kicks the wet towels aside. “We can clean up later.”

“I think this concerns you too,” Leslie says, sounding deceptively casual as she twists her blonde hair up into a black claw clip, transforming her instantly into a banker.

“Me?”

Panic flashes in Koh’s eyes—the kind I’ve seen in new inmates. He stiffens by the fridge while I move to the stove.

“What happened?” I ask, facing them.
