I hold my hands up and shake my head rapidly. “Oh, no, no, no.”
She parrots me and nods at the same pace. “Oh, yes, yes, yes.”
I love a shitty dive bar. Finding the best local watering holes is practically my favorite pastime. When Grace and I would explore a town, that was the first thing we would do. But in Sterling Springs, the odds of running into someone I don’t want to see are very high.
“I’m not sure if that’s a great idea,” I say, but I can already tell by the look on her face, she is determined and not going to give up.
“Come on. Please?” Sisi bats her lashes at me, pleading like a cute puppy dog. “You always said we would go once I turned twenty-one. Since you were gone by then, I think you owe me those shots now.”
“I don’t know,” I say, scrunching my shoulders and trying to shrink into myself. As fun as a night out with her sounds, doing it here—at that bar—still feels like something I’m not ready to open myself up to.
She arches a brow at me. “It’ll be fun. Also, I’d normally be doing something with my former fiancé on a Saturday night, and obviously that’s not happening. So, please save me from being the depressing loner at the bar?”
She flashes a smug grin like she knows she’s already won, and I know I’m going to fold like a dollar store lawn chair because I have no comeback for that. On the outside, she might be the least intimidating looking of the Sterling siblings, but she can wield emotions like a surgical instrument. I guess that’s what growing up with three older brothers will instill in you.
“Okay.” I relent, rolling my eyes to tell her bravo, well played. “Swing by my room when you’re ready to head to The Hatch.”
“Perfect.” She bends down and wraps me in a quick hug. “I’ll see you tonight!”
She makes a short little wave at Taylor and Maribel before leaving.
“I’m glad you two are back together like no time has passed,” Maribel says, still sitting at the table with me.
“Yeah, it’s been good.” I turn to find her eyeing me with a knowing look. “What?” I ask, defensively.
She tips her chin toward the door that Sisi just walked out of. “If you’re going to be around town for a bit, you can make things right with them. She’s missed you. She’s needed someone to talk to besides her brother.”
“I know. I’ve missed her too. I’ve even missed you.”
“You always knew how to make a girl feel special.” She chuckles before her expression becomes more serious. “But, Josie hon, they’ve all missed you.” Her tone is somber, and I don’t need her to tell me exactly who she means by they.
CHAPTER 9
SLY
Did You Get It?
My phone pings and I’m almost embarrassed at how fast I jump off the couch to grab it where it’s charging on the kitchen counter. I have a nearly Pavlovian response to the custom alert tone I set for the OnlyVans app. That sound means I’ve got a message from Black Sheep Bunni or she’s posted new content. Either scenario is enough to make my week.
Black Sheep Bunni: Hey, Big Guy. Posted a new video today. I think you’ll like it.
I guess it’s my lucky day because I got both a message and new content that’s going to consume an unspeakable amount of my afternoon and maybe evening, too.
ME: You already know I’ll like it.
The rest of my day suddenly looks a lot better. I send her a tip before I even open the video because after the fucked up week I’ve had, I need this. That’s why I take my phone and head right to my bathroom and start the shower. Maybe being obsessed with a faceless cam girl isn’t my most honorable life choice, but I have few guilty pleasures in life, and I’m not planning on giving this one up any time soon.
The realness of her videos, her tattoos and tight body, that dirty fucking mouth and fuck-everyone-else attitude—all of it stirs something in me that nothing else—no, no one else can.
Steam slowly fills my bathroom while I wait for the shower to get hot. My phone sits propped on my vanity as the teaser for the video plays. My eyes don’t leave that screen as my mystery girl’s low, sultry voice comes through.
“I know I’ve been bad lately.” Her tone is a taunting, mockingly innocent one that reminds me this girl is anything but demure. “I’m sure you’ve missed me. I didn’t forget about you. So today, I wanted to post something fun, just for you.”
Sometimes it feels like she’s talking right to me. She has before—when I ordered a custom video, or she sent me a thank you voice message—and the way she drops her voice with her playful, lusty tone always sends heat crawling up my spine. I tug my shirt over my head and look down to see the outline of my painfully hard erection in my gym shorts.
I tug down my shorts and fist my cock.
The video begins, and I suck in a breath.
