What happens if he finds out the truth?

“We need to get ready,” I say instead, trying to get up. His hand tightens around me. I love the heady feeling it gives me. “Bozeman’s a long drive, and we still have to find the workshop on their property, and—”

Lawton starts circling that sliver of skin beneath my belly button like he knows it will set me off. “And?”

And every reason, every excuse, gone.

“Fine. I want this,” I say, trying not to whine.

“Thank fuck,” Lawton moans against my shoulder.

There’s another knock.

“Luke?” Arch’s voice drifts through the door. “You awake? Want to come out on the river with me today?”

“Ignore it,” Lawton groans, biting my earlobe. “He’ll go away.”

His hand glides lower, teasing my entrance. I can think of a million reasons to stop this, but I don’t say a single one. Instead, I lift my leg for him so he gets a better angle. His finger dives into me, spreading my desire for him around, and I stop thinking about the job, our history, everything.

It’s been so long since anyone’s touched me like this, and he’s one of the only men I can relax around since I don’t have to lie about my job, so if he’s offering, I’ll take the orgasm.

He flicks that tender spot, and then rolls it between his fingers using just the right amount of pressure.

“My god, you’re good at this,” I moan.

A gravelly chuckle.

“I’ve been thinking a lot about ways I can make you ‘relax.’ ” His fingers move in a circle while his tongue flicks along my neck, sucking, leaving marks. I stifle my moans into the pile of sheets.

“You like that?” he murmurs, kissing the skin behind my ear.

His hand tightens around my throat, so I barely manage an uh-huh, but based on the noises my body is making, I think it’s obvious.

“Oh, fuck, you really like that, don’t you?” he groans.

My body clenches harder around his fingers. I arch my head back against his chest as he keeps pumping with a single-minded focus, edging me closer, then slowing, closer, then slowing. His other hand alternates between pinching my nipple and squeezing my throat. There’s nothing fancy about this, just us, his hands, my body, and it’s already better than anything I’ve experienced because there’s no hiding behind a fake identity.

“I’ve thought about this, you know,” he grinds out, teeth grazing my earlobe. “Even when I hated you, I thought about you like this, what you would sound like when you came.” He picks up his pace. “Would you scream? Or are you a quiet one? Then I just hated you more for it.”

God, that shouldn’t turn me into liquid, but I whimper.

His fingers press harder. “Will you come for me, Sabrina?”

My thighs tremble, and then his thumb finds just the right spot, circling me with the perfect amount of pressure. Pleasure detonates through my body, and I’m coming harder than I ever have before. I bite my lip to stifle my cries, but he grips my chin, angling my head back to meet his blazing eyes. I never knew darkness could burn.

“Don’t. Those noises are mine,” he rasps before crashing his mouth against me.

And damn it all to Dante’s ninth circle, but I kiss him back, and nothing about it is fake.

Wanting, it never fades. It festers until it breaks you.

Those moans, the way Sabrina’s gray eyes glossed over as she came… one taste and it’s consuming my brain, rotting through all my self-control.

And I’ve never been great at discipline.

That was always Walker’s specialty. Whenever he wanted something, he’d deny himself until it didn’t faze him. It’s why he gave up sugar, and then learned how to bake a tres leches cake that Ma said was the best she ever had. Just to prove to himself the sugar didn’t control him.
