The backs of my thighs hit cold stone and Kain’s hands hike me up just below my ass. My dress rolls up as he places me down on the half-wall, his cold hand roaming under my skirt to cup my ass, while his hot tongue massages mine.

“Kain,” I mumble through kisses, gently pushing at his shoulders. He moans in frustration, dragging me closer into him. My centre connects with his already hard dick causing it to flutter against him.

“Kain,” I attempt again, but my legs wrap around his waist all the same. His fingers find their way to the waistband of my tights and he grips them, pulling them tight against me. It’s like he’s fighting with himself to not rip them off me in the middle of this balcony.

“Kain.” I sigh, my hips grinding against him of their own accord.

“Jordie,” he moans back, his hands venturing back to my tights, fingers hooking into the holes.

“Don’t rip my tights.”

Another moan of frustration as I grip his T-shirt and pull him into me.

“Don’t do that if you don’t want me to take you right here and now.” He gives my legs a warning squeeze.

“You know how badly I want you to.” Somehow, the frigid air, the grey skies, the old stone… it makes my thoughts run off. It feels magical and for a seemingly holy place, it only makes me want to do unholy things.

I wish I knew a few months ago, when we decided to give our purity away to each other, that I’d be committing sin after sin in everyone’s eyes. I love him. This isn’t wrong; it’s right.

A sharp clearing of a throat has my heart banging against my ribcage, and I push Kain away harder than I intended. His breathing is uneven as he whips his head to the side and offers me his hand, pulling me off the ledge. I move quickly, shoving the tight material of my dress down, then smoothing my mess of hair.

Oh, crap. Oh, crap. Oh, crap.

My eyes squeeze shut. I don’t want to know or see who’s just caught us red handed. My only thought now is how to get us out of this situation safely.

Alive.

“Dorrian.” Kain swallows and my stomach churns. I focus on the tick in Kain’s defined jaw.

“Jordan, get out of here.” There’s command in Dorrian’s voice. Authority that has my hackles rising because it’s similar to my mothers and I don’t like it one bit. But here, with Kain beside me, a flame ignites in my chest.

“Excuse me?” I finally bring myself to face the thunderous look on his face. I’m obtusely aware of my messed-up hair, the pink of my flushed cheeks, the moisture in my panties, and the swell of my lips. Our biggest fears have finally manifested.

Kain tenses beside me and I try to slip my hand out of his, but he grips me tighter. My muscles slump in defeat because we’ve been caught anyway. There’s no hiding what we’ve just done.

“You speak to me. Not her.” Kain’s voice has deepened several octaves.

Dorrian’s brown eyes cut to Kain, darkening. The intensity at which he looks at Kain with, it would make anyone run a mile. But Kain stands there, tall and protective.

“Tell her to get out and I won’t tell anyone what I just saw. You’re lucky no one else noticed you both disappeared.”

I swallow past the dryness in my throat.

God.

My mother.

“I don’t trust you,” Kain retorts, guiding me to stand behind him.

Dorrian huffs a laugh, shoving his hands in the pockets of his suit. His blazer, once done up, now sits open casually in the divot between his hands and hips. “What would you do, Kain? Please, tell me.”

Kain’s hand tightens painfully on mine, but I give him a warning squeeze which makes him relent.

“Kill me?” Dorrian probes.

“I fucking wish,” Kain mumbles.

Dorrian looks at me again. “Go,” he says, softer this time.
