She blinks and then scowls. “Too far, cowboy. Too far.”

I rub my hand over my stubble. “I’m in a lose-lose situation here.”

Not that I mind. Sparring with Gianna lights a fire inside me.

“Look. You pay for dinner. I need to actually use the ladies' room, and I’ll meet you back at the car. Then all is forgiven.”

She stands, tugging down her dress while I admire every single inch of her. And like that, my dick is raring to go again, and this time, I don’t think it’s the drugs she spiked me with. It’s her.

“Stop staring at me, you fucking creep,” she says teasingly.

I tut. “Keep talking to me like that, and I’ll rip that dress off you in here and fuck you on this table.”

A crimson flush spreads over her chest. “And get us arrested, great start,” she snaps.

I stand, closing the distance between us, towering over her. “Worth. Every. Second,” I whisper, leaning in closer. “Just think of all the things I can do to you while you’re in handcuffs.”

“I prefer you to use rope,” she says casually.

I need to leave before I bend her over this table.

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

Gianna

Fuck me. I need to spray myself with cold water before I go back out to Colten. All I can see when I close my eyes is him tying me up. The amount of pent-up sexual frustration flowing through me should be studied.

A few days ago, I was a virgin. Now? Sex is at the forefront of my thoughts, and I can’t stop it. Is this how men feel all the time? Brain dead except for thoughts of fucking? Oddly, I’ve also never been so calm. Maybe I haven’t been giving them enough credit.

I’m not worrying about my father's empire. I’m not securing loans on properties. I’m not plotting anyone's death. Well, the last one is a lie. I am, but it doesn’t feel like work.

I almost, and I hate to say it, feel normal. Or as close to it as I think it means. I lock myself in the bathroom stall and sit on the toilet, ready to do my business when the main door opens. My instincts run on overdrive when I hear heavy footsteps. They aren’t women’s steps. Shit. I really need to pee. So I do, and sing to myself to hide any noise while I’m drawing the blade from my purse.

I flush the toilet, pull down my dress, and unlock the door. Keeping the knife hidden behind me.

“Can I help you?” I ask, aiming it right at him.

He grins, and I grimace at his missing front tooth.

“Sir, I don’t know why you’re wasting your time here when you should be at the dentist.”

Colten has good teeth. It’s always the first thing I look at when I talk to someone, and why I’m so obsessed with my own dental health. Even as a smoker, my teeth are always sparkling white, and that won’t ever change.

He taps his gun against his thigh, leaning against the sink. His dark eyes drag down my body, settling on my breasts.

“You need to leave,” I say calmly.

He shakes his head. “No, I need to see the picture you took earlier.”

So, he doesn’t know who I am. That’s good. He thinks he’s intimidating a woman alone in a bathroom.

“Why? I haven’t done anything wrong.” I give him a sweet, innocent smile.

“You need to delete it,” he demands.

Then he steps closer, right into my space.

“And you need to fuck off,” I hiss.
