“Are you about to kidnap me?” I ask.

He stops for a red light and turns to face me, tapping the wheel. “A little bit, yeah.”

“Why are we going back to the jet? And why did we even drive off?”

He lifts his arm, running his fingers through my hair. “I had a little time to kill while they refuel.” He shrugs.

“Colten Sterling. Where are we going?”

He pulls back my bottom lip. “To get a few things ticked off that kink list of yours, wife.”

I squeeze my thighs together, already shifting in my seat. “Is that my surprise?”

“One of them. The other is being delivered tomorrow. We will be home in time.”

I lean over, placing my hand over his crotch. “So, we’re flying somewhere to fuck? Then coming back for surprise two? And then… kidnapping Levi?”

He pulls up to the security gates at the private airport and opens his window.

“Sounds like a pretty good twenty-four hours to me,” he says.

“Wait, Matteo is taking my bags home. I don’t have anything?” I panic.

Colt laughs and hands some documents to the guard who opens the gate. “I’ve packed everything you need, sweetheart.”

My legs bounce with excitement. I have no idea what he’s planning, but I trust him.

And that should scare me a lot more than it does. I was always told never to trust a soul outside my family. But I think Colten is becoming my family.

CHAPTER EIGHTY

Colten

I’m normally in and out of Vegas within an hour. We drop the drugs off to Mikhail’s warehouse, pack up some guns to bring back, and then we’re out.

The Volkovs rule over Vegas. Nearly every hotel. Every casino. Every place your boot lands, Mikhail is watching.

But the place ain’t for me. I like the quiet. The smell of dirt. Not the scent of boozed-up tourists on their third day without showering. They chase the noise, and I’m desperate for peace and quiet. But on this occasion, being in Vegas is a necessity. Because I don't trust anyone else to arrange this surprise for Gianna.

I squeeze her hand tighter as I lead her across the tarmac to the blacked-out Range Rover. The driver's door flies open, and the man who pops out grins like a crazed lunatic. He runs at us, his silver tooth reflecting in the sun.

Gianna stops in her tracks, going into defense mode, her body tensing, but I laugh.

Alexei stops in front of me. “Yeehaw, the cowboys made it to the party.” Alexei whoops, throwing up a fist.

I thought Jett was crazy, but he ain’t got nothing on this guy. I’m not sure what details Mikhail has actually told Alexei, because this is not a party. Not the kind he thinks it is anyway.

“We’re here for business, Alexei, but good to see you again,” I say, tipping my hat.

His eyes dazzle at my hat. “I need to get myself one of them; Lara will fucking love it.”

He cracks his knuckles, and for a split second, I’m half expecting him to try and knock me out to steal it. Lara must be a saint to be able to deal with a husband as crazy as Alexei.

“Next run, I’ll bring you one. How's that?”

Gianna steps beside me, and she studies him intensely. That gets Alexei’s attention.

“Is this your wife? You’re married, right? And you didn’t invite me?” he asks.
