“You have a list, and you haven’t shared it with me?”

Heat crawls up my neck. “Maybe.”

“It’s written down?”

I shake my head. “Nope. All in my head. It’s a growing list. I was doing some research before bed.”

His eyebrow raises. “Did my viper find out porn exists?”

I bark out a laugh. “I was a virgin when you met me, but not sheltered. I’ve killed more people than you’ve fucked, Colten.”

His eyebrows knit together. “I’m not even sure I want to do that math on that one.”

“Me neither,” I deadpan.

“Back to the list. Do you care to share? Or is it more of a guessing game where I find out your kinks as we go?”

I flash him a smile. “Oh, I’ll share the list.”

He leans in, pressing his lips to mine. “You going to tell me what my surprise is?” he mutters.

I shake my head. “Nope. All will be revealed soon.”

He sets me down on the ground and opens up the passenger door, helping me in, not before slapping my ass before I sit down. A true gentleman.

He starts the drive and turns down the radio. My guys are right behind in a van lugging the things I decided to bring back from my house. There were a few decorations I thought might look cool at our place, bring a little bit of me into the decor.

“Oh, so I got Dom to run the plates through our companies. It belongs to Cesare, one of the men who didn’t make the cut.”

Colt slides his hand into mine on my lap. “And why did he not make the cut, baby?”

“He was in my little red book of traitors.”

“What did he do?”

“He stole some money from my father years ago and lost two fingers for it. Tried to get out of it by saying his mom was dying and he needed cash for her treatment.”

“And your father bought that?”

I shake my head. “No. That’s why he’s got two fingers missing. I doubt that was all of the punishment either.”

“How long ago?” he asks.

“Maybe seven years? My father didn’t like bringing on new people, so he conditioned the ones he had. I don’t forgive as easily.”

He hums in response. “So, why would he be following me to an auction?”

I glance at him, trying not to be distracted by his chiseled jaw and stubble. Or the veins popping in his forearm as he holds the wheel. “If I had to guess, he wasn’t the brightest spark. I’d say he’s looking for me or a way to get to me to beg for his job back. Matteo is going to hunt him down once we get back home.”

“And what happens when we find him?”

I grin. “I’d like you to show me some new torture techniques. I’ve seen the way you handle rope. I know you’ve got some fucked up methods up your sleeve, cowboy.”

He chuckles. “We can get Jett to introduce him to a game of cowboy poker.”

“Which is?”

If I had to guess, it would be something ridiculous like throwing knives at each other on certain cards.
