His past is his past; I don’t care. What I do care about is why Romeo felt the need to do this to me at a family party. Jealousy means feelings. Feelings are more than sex. And where the fuck does that leave me?

CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT

Colten

Song- Money Where Your Mouth Is, Lakeview, Gideon

Harper storms right past me; Ace shrugs when I look at him for any idea of what just happened.

Whatever was said between Gianna and Romeo wasn’t good.

“Is G coming back?” I ask Harper.

Romeo’s eyes snap to mine, and that’s when I see it: fucking remorse.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. He’s always made it clear he doesn’t want Gianna in Enzo’s organization, and I think he told her enough to press her buttons.

I rub my hands over my face and head towards the back door. My heart drops through my chest, and I have to get to her. I have to explain. Because the thought of ruining whatever the hell we’ve managed to build in Greece feels like cutting off a damn limb.

“Colt. Wait. Maybe give her a minute.” Harper rushes behind me.

I stop. Turn to face her. “How furious is she?”

Harper blinks at me and shakes her head. “She’s not angry, Colt. It’s worse.”

My heart hammers. “What are you saying?”

“She seemed sad, and I’ve not seen Gianna sad. Ever. Period.”

It takes everything in me not to storm over to Romeo and punch him in the head until he can’t ever speak again. What the hell is he playing at?

Is he jealous? Being spiteful isn’t him. He knows it was never anything deeper than sex.

This isn’t about me. This is about trying to rattle Gianna.

The back door opens, and all the air is sucked out of my lungs. Her eyes hit me like daggers, but she plasters on a smile good enough to fool everyone else around us, but not me. Without a word, she closes the distance between us, grabs me by the throat so hard the points of her nails draw blood, and tugs me down to slam her lips over mine. My arms loop around her waist, tugging her flush against me.

If I can do anything right now, it’s showing her that there’s only one person for me.

Only one person who has my attention.

We stumble backward until her back hits the fence. I don’t break the kiss; I don’t dare.

She’s putting on a show, not just that she’s mine, but the control she has over me. This is a power play. And she’s sure as hell winning.

I break the kiss and glance to the side. Hunter has his hands over Wyatt's eyes, glaring at me like he’s going to punch me in the jaw. Well, I’d rather that than Gianna being mad at me; that’s for goddamn sure.

“Let’s go inside,” I whisper against her lips.

“Why? Do you not want anyone to see how much you want your wife?”

I cup her cheek. “Gianna. I don’t give a fuck which adult watches us make out; however, Wyatt doesn’t need to.”

Her eyes go wide. “Shit. I’m sorry.”

“It’s a kiss, G. He sees Hunter and Lola madly in love every day; it ain’t new to the boy. The issue is, if you keep kissing me like that, I’m gonna get hard, and that’s a step over the line.”

I lift her into my arms, her legs around my waist.
