She points toward the covered section. “You could entertain out here, but you could also sit here with coffee and enjoy your privacy. Now, you won't see the sunrise here, as we are facing the opposite direction, but you can see a pretty beautiful sunset.”
I glance at her, amused. “You've given up your quest to make me a morning person?”
Her lips curve. “I'll take what I can get.”
“So here you sell me evenings.”
“I'm selling you options,” she corrects.
I look back over the city, where the light will eventually drop behind the buildings. “You’re very good at that.”
“I know.”
“There's that ‘confidence’ again,” I tease.
She laughs.
I lean against the railing and look out over the city.
“This is closer to what I had before.”
“Much closer.”
“But also much better.”
“I agree.”
I turn my head toward her. “You sound very sure of yourself.”
“I worked hard for this one.”
“The owner wasn’t planning to sell.”
“He was on the fence. I simply enticed him to one side.”
I narrow my eyes. “How?”
Her expression becomes suspiciously innocent.
“Blair.”
“You can't expect me to tell you all my secrets.”
“Oh, I do,” I say quietly.
Her smile fades as she watches me, but the moment is broken when she turns back toward the doors.
“Come on. You haven’t seen the primary suite yet.”
The bedroom occupies the opposite corner of the penthouse and has the same floor-to-ceiling windows as the main living area, though the view shifts toward a different section of the skyline. It is large but not cavernous, just enough for a king bed and a full sitting area, and the windows are fitted with concealed shades that disappear completely into the ceiling when they are open.
“The glass is treated,” Blair says as I walk toward it. “Privacy tint during the day, blackout shades at night if you want them, and the building has restrictions on anything that could compromise sightlines into the unit from surrounding rooftops.”
I lift my brows, again, impressed.
The bathroom is equally well considered, with stone, dark wood, a wide glass shower, and a tub positioned near the windows. The closets are enormous, which Blair points out with a brief glance at my suit.
“Do you have a problem with my clothes?” I ask.
