By the time I settle behind the wheel, Blair already has her phone in hand. She scrolls through something while I start the engine.
“How many more?” I ask.
“Just one. This one takes us back into the city.”
I glance toward her. “Full circle.”
“You asked for a full day.”
“I did.”
I pull away from the mansion and head toward the gate. “Where to?”
“You'll be happy to know that this one is a penthouse. Just for a change of pace,” she adds with a grin.
I laugh.
Blair reads off the address.
I know it.
Not the unit, but the building. It's a building that I like, one that I've considered living in.
I turn my head toward her. “There are no units available in that building. I checked.”
Blair watches me, one corner of her mouth lifting. “Must not have looked hard enough.”
I look at her for a beat. “Off-market?”
“Very.”
That gets my full attention.
She settles back into the passenger seat, looking far too pleased with herself. “The owner wasn’t planning to list yet, but I convinced the right person to make a phone call.”
I shake my head, smiling despite myself. “You really did spend all night on this.”
“I told you I had a lot riding on today.”
Yes, and I plan to find out just how much from that weasel Randall.
But right now…
I pull out onto the street. “All right.”
Her brows lift. “That easy?”
“You haven’t given me a reason to doubt you yet.”
The smile she gives me is worth the admission.
She turns her attention back to the route on her phone. “Good. Because I think you're really going to like this one.”
I glance at her as I merge into traffic.
Then I look toward the city ahead of us and follow the directions to the penthouse.
The private elevator opens directly into the penthouse.
