“Delaney has nothing to do with this.”
“Don’t say her name,” she screeches. “This has everything to do with her. She’s going to pay.”
“Can’t you see that all he cares about is Delaney?” Sam snarls. “Pike doesn’t give a shit about you.”
“Shut up, Sam. You’ll see. Once she’s gone and can no longer distract him, he’ll see me. He’ll see that I’m perfect for him and that we were always meant to be together.”
“Why wait when we can be together now?” I tell her. “Get rid of Sam and I’ll show you that Delaney doesn’t matter. Only you, sweetheart. I do see you. Only you. You’re so pretty, Hope. God, your eyes.” I grin and shake my head, trying my best to be convincing.
She hums to herself as she stares at Sam.
“Stop looking at me like that, Hope. He’s playing you.”
She cocks her head to the side, studying him.
“Come on, Hope. Show me you want to be with me. Take him out,” I taunt, as I fiddle with the cuffs.
“He has a point. You got Pike here for me. I don’t really need you. Hmm.” She smirks, tapping her chin as headlights flash through the window.
“Horace is back,” Sam announces.
“Yippee. Now the fun can really start. Don’t go anywhere, lover.” She licks the side of my face.
Fuck. If Horace has Delaney, then that means he either has Talia too, or he took her out. I hope for the best but prepare for the worst as I slip out of the cuffs with the two of them leaving me alone. They weren’t smart enough to disarm me fully.
I still have the knife in my boot.
I pull it out as they stop at the front door. I move back into place as Horace walks in. “Knew you’d be good for something, boy.” He pats Sam on the shoulder. “Did you tell your buddy that you’re my son?” Horace gloats as he narrows his eyes on me. “No? Doesn’t matter. I’ve got a surprise for you, baby girl. Got two for one.”
Shit. I’m glad my sister is okay, but I’m not happy she’s in this situation. Fucking Sam. Rat bastard. All this time he was playing me. Woking an angle. Keeping tabs on Delaney through me.
“Come on, Sam. Need your help getting these bitches out of my truck.”
Hope turns her attention back to me. “Don’t worry, baby. We’ll be together soon.” She slices her finger on the blade of the hatchet and smears her blood over my lips. “We’re going to have so much fun together. I can’t wait to have you inside me while Sam watches. He’ll see that you do love me.”
Bile shoots up my throat. I’d rather cut my dick off before I fuck her.
“That so. You want Sam to watch us? How long have you been fucking him?”
“Ew. He doesn’t get to touch me. I’ve been saving myself for you.”
“That so?”
“Mhmm.” She smiles.
“Come here.”
“Why?”
“Sit on my lap, so when Delaney walks in here, she’ll see that she’s nothing to me. That I want to be with you,” I lie through my gritted teeth. “You’ve got me so damn hard, Hope. I’m not sure I can’t wait.”
She eyes me curiously but comes back to me and drops her ass on my crotch. I hook an arm around her throat, constricting her airway with one hand as I plunge my knife into her chest. Not deep enough to kill her, but enough to wound her.
Outside, I can hear Horace barking orders at Sam. Delaney’s running. Good girl, I think as Hope cries out in shock. Guess she wasn’t expecting me to be out of the cuffs. “I’m going to slit your throat as your daddy watches.” I grin, twisting the knife harder into her tit.
Stupid cunt.
